The end solo sounds different. That's one of the reasons I say Robin. But I can see what you say about the wah lines too. And not every rework is completely different from the original recording. Some parts stay the same and others are done over differently.

So using your logic since BH plays a different solo live than the studio version of Madagascar that means its not BH on the studio version?

I have listened to muliple shots of the live verision and its pretty much just like the demo, unlke Hard School and perhaps.

Also didn't Marco even say the leak version does not sound like the same version he worked on?

Also is pretty annoying you have ruined two threads about the general.

I have listened to the same things you have and you have it wrong. The Slash COVER solo doesn't climb like Robin's on The General. It goes low. The body. The low rumble. Slash doesn't have it, man. Slash is limited on what he can do and this clearly shows it.

Slash re-writes robins parts just like he did on perhaps and hard school.  What slash played last night, sounds like what is on the leaked track. It seems like its slash and fortus on the leak.  I thought it was Robin and BH at first on The General until I heard the live version.

I have always though its slash and duff on Monsters since the music sounds like the stuff they did in VR

I respect what you're saying. If you think you hear VR then you actually hear it. I'm not really into VR. I'm into Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy. I've compared Slither to Monsters and I'm honestly struggling to see how they are similar. The solos of Slither and Monsters aren't the same. I focus on solos. I don't focus on the other stuff. My fav member in a band is the lead guitarist more than anything else.

I am a way bigger CD era fan than you are.  And its bonkers you cant hear VR in the Monsters song.
Even if its not Slash and Duff, it sounds just like a VR song musically.

And who said the solos sound the same. WE are talking about the style of the overall song

The bass style is very similar as is the guitar style.

No. We know that is Buckethead. It's hard to explain from that angle. Since when I heard Madagascar played at MTV VMA 2002 I knew it was Buckethead. I don't know what else to say on Buckethead. Buckethead is a freak in the fact he churns out solo record after record of incredible sounds. Buckethead is a MONSTER releasing stuff. A shame he left when he did. Bucket and Robin had great chemistry on stage for the limited time they were together. but a very creative time. look at the songs Bucket and Robin recorded together in such a short period of time? I'd say hundreds of songs! Village leaks all the songs with vocals all the instrumentals and so much more we don't know about. I'm saying if you go by the rework logic some parts of The General will be the same on the official release and some won't. In this case I think the biggest difference will be the guitar solo that ends the song. There is not much else to the song musically. Almost like a Chinese Democracy hip hop beat with drums. But again I mostly focus on the lead guitar stuff. Others can sort out the rest. They're quite good at it,

Slash played pretty much exactly live what is on the leak.  Just because the ending solo is slightly different does not mean squat bc slash is always slightly changing how he plays these new songs live bc they are new and he has not been playing them for over 30 years.

And you keep saying you focus on the guitar playing, its exactly the same on both versions lol

Just curious, if the final offical version comes  out and its the same thing as the leak with just a better mix of the vocals, are you going to admit you dont know Robins playing as well as you think? Or will you just make more excuses and act like its still Robin on the leak but the offical one is Slash just covering robin very well lol

It's put into question if this demo really is Slash and Duff. Speculation is Monsters is from an uncirculated batch of 2006 discs that features all the other songs we've heard about that have been rumored about to be recorded by Slash and Duff returned to the live band tour in 2016 to 2023. With all due respect you sound more like a Slash fan than you do a Robin, Bucket, Tommy, and Brain. You defend Slash so much and you're like one of the biggest Slash defenders on the forums. I don't defend Slash because I don't like Slash. I don't like Slash since he left. And he didn't leave peacefully. Slash left because he wanted to keep the nightrain going and Axl wanted more November Rain. Creative differences. The same thing that broke up John and Paul. But I don't support 2023 Axl because Axl still won't release CD2 and CE3 with Robin and Bucket. And instead 2023 Axl let's Slash and Duff ruin Robin's and Bucket's art to PUMP UP the live tour and keep the cash rolling in. It's not about integraty and respect for Axl, it's all about the money for Axl. the money that keeps the cash train rolling all night long. the solo in VR is a standard, by the numebrs solo. Nothing special. But the solo on The General by Robin Finck is something so creative we've never heard before in a rock song. The same for the solo on Monsters if that is Robin. If it is Slash, then I'll give him the credit. But Monsters is still a question mark. But the Robin fans I ask on social media think Monsters is Robin too. And to me it's about the solos. Style overrall doesn't stand out. Rock solos do. The rock solo is where the money is in a song.
