I think it'd be a cop out, if next season is the last, it'll be interesting.

I feel like this opens ALL sorts of new things to explore. As far as I can tell, the next season should open with Dexter explaining everything to Deb.

Then after that, they can decide how to make Travis' death look like Dexter went to the church to clear it as Deb requested, Travis attacked him and Dex killed him in self defense. That way they both come out looking like heroes and it helps Deb's career out in a BIG way.

Then they can move on with Deb and Dexter working together as a team so to speak now that she knows the truth. Deb needs something taken care of? Put Dexter on it? Dexter needs to kill? Hit Deb up for an unsolved case. The outlook for the series is brilliant if you ask me.

Agree 100 percent and hope they do exactly that.
