I'm flooded with nostalgia seeing some of these userenames. Great to see you all again.

He's been posting here for months lol

Welcome Brasky! Big fan of your "stuff you didn't know" thread. Love the wrestling and sopranos references. Cheers.

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of the ancients coming out of the woodwork. I wonder what ever happened to kingoffspring?

Writing credits for Perhaps and The General are on SESAC (which collects royalties for Axl). It looks that the full name of The General is "The General and Monsters"

Steve Freeman and Marc Haggard have written songs with Brain and Buckethead.

Now that's an interesting development.

It rules out the possibility of them pulling it at the last minute.

Interesting songwriting credits too.

That is one cool song title.

I am wondering if The General and Soul Monster have been merged into one song.

My anticipation has kicked back in. I was already losing interest in it.

Business as usual for a GN'R fan. Quite the rollercoaster ride these last 30 years.

Likewise, I take the point that VR was trying very hard not to be an 80s band too - even though I love VR for what it was.

The irony is, Contraband was exactly the album that GN'R should've made in the 00's. If they'd taken those tracks, with that production, and mashed it up with the best of Axl's Chinese Democracy efforts (TWAT, IRS, CD etc), and released it at that time, we'd have had the comeback of the century.

If I dropped my three least favorite CD album songs and replaced them with slither, set me free, and fall to pieces, then I would have easily one of the best albums of the 00's.

Don’t worry, guys, Team Brazil has everything well in hand

Right? I'm sure the delay is just so the vinyl and the magic 8 ball collector's edition die-cast truck can drop at the same time.

The chimps probably could have gotten us the 92 TIL with Thyme intro.

Too funny….1. Why in the hell would they re-release OMG? 2. How in the hell could Slash and Duff make that song better?

You want to know what's even funnier than that?

The idea of releasing Silkworms as your big single during the reunion.

Wasn't that Axl's way of waiving the victory flag over Duff and Slash? "You know the experimental shit you guys weren't into, that's going to be the first single." I'm as big as Chinese era cuck as the next nerd, but what other reason could that single have been chosen other than an actual b-side or outro thrown on the album without anyone elses knowledge?

Well only two weeks to go until it's released. I'm sure it will turn up online everywhere as soon as someone gets there's. I don't see a leak happening before that of an earlier version though. Possibly after the release though as I guess the track won't be worth quite as much.

These guys still jerk each other off over hoarding bootlegs form the early 90's. I highly doubt any of these self stroking, fucks unload any earlier demos once this version comes out. They will still feel special having their 2007 demo version and that's what they get off on.

Unsolicited confession.... I've now surpassed 200 listens to the shitty cellphone clip. I mean It's probably closer to 300 but, in this community, does that even register on the geiger counter of fanaticism? I mark out to that melodic lead by Bucket (which to my ear is the only true discernible music amongst the chatter).

Based on the final product of the other officially released,  "reaheated" Chinese leftovers, I'm sure I will enjoy the final product regardless of the excessive edits. I just hope no matter who is actually playing on the track, does what I heard on that clip, justice.

Releasing presumably (in the eyes of the hardcores) the best song of the post 93 line up on a b-side, seems to be par for course with the chinese legacy of this band.

I wonder if the hoarders ever have buyers remorse.

Hopefully in hindsight, when these tracks finally see the light of day. I hope a ton of feelings were hurt when the chairman "emptied the locker".
