I am pretty sick of hearing about start times and setlists and managers and handlers and housekeepers. Let it go. They are out kicking ass around the world for the last two years, and it sounds like they are semi-interested in releasing some new music fairly soon. What more do you want? There is NO reunion in the near future so this is what we got, and it is pretty good right now. 5

I don't believe anyone in this thread has said they aren't out kicking ass at the moment based on the last couple of US shows. Also I don't believe anyone in here has called for a reunion either.

Some people like to discuss different aspects of this band in an appropriate thread. AND just because they do it doesn't mean they aren't positive about how good the last few shows have been, or how positive things may be looking going forward compared to other times.

I would have to have thought that's Jim putting words into hid mouth, surely!

A good summation Monkey.  The dropping it in the lap is not a good thing, that's how things like tours get booked without Axl knowing, private screenings of Black Hawk down that turn out to be public, countdowns of the number of Tuesday's left, private shows that don't happen, etc etc etc.

People have then got the ass and lost their job or fallen out of favour when it turns out that Axl didn't know anything about whatever it was they were organising for him.  Clearly the people doing the organising (like booking a tour, or turning up for an intereview like TMS) are doing it fully believing Axl is cognisant of what is going down.  Sounds like often he's not.

With the TMS thing Axl was cool and went along with it when he found out, but obviously in the past he's not been happy with some things (which is his perogative) and then the people doing the organising get made the scapegoats.  But it's actually the mangement (or go betweens) that are truly to blame since they haven't been talking straight with anyone.  When they are caught out in a lie, they simply blame others, e.g. if Axl chose not to do the TMS thing and it blew up, I bet you the line would be "nobody ever told them Axl was going to do an interview".

Shame because I think Axl is a lot more positive and upbeat and would be prepared to do a lot more things like this interview than people (his own people) give him credit for.  Whenever he does speak at length he seems to be a very genuinely funny and engaging individual.  Shame we don't get to see more of that, it would do wonders for his public persona if we did see more of it too.

Ok cool I couldn't pick up exactly what he was saying in that vid.  So we obviously don't know Peter's second name.

I asked this in the other thread, who are his management?

Is there legitimately someone or is it like Beta, Fernando et al?

Did the Doc McGhee thing ever happen?

Who are "they" when the guys in the podcast are talking about management?

How can they not have told Axl about the intervew and just bullshitted to TMS that they did. They even told them after the gig he was in the shower which was BS he as hanging with Ron.  Funny in Duffs book when he was in the same hotel as Axl and he went next door to see him "his people" told Duff he was about to have a shower  which he wasn't, and Duff just goes thats ok I have seen him naked before and goes in to his room.

As to why he's putting on such good shows. I'm guessing he's become more comfortable with his position. CD is done, a few big lawsuits are settled and he's surrounded by quality musicians.

True maybe he is actually touring this time because he wants to not because he needs to finanically so much (which is what I have guessed some of the past tours have been about).

That must be a much better head space to be in.

It sounds to me that so far the band have managed to put on pretty decent shows and Axl is apparently in pretty good form.  If that continues then I could see no reason why the whole tour couldn't go well.

Hopefully late starts or other things don't derail it at any point.  I also have no idea how the shows have been selling?

Maybe the crowd is more into it because it's been so long since the US had a Guns tour?

I just hope the whole tour goes well as if that happens I would think Axl is more likely to break out a new song and then perhaps even some more new music after the tour?  I know that's probably a longshot, but it's more chance of happening after a good tour than an abortion of a tour.
