Supposedly he made a "promise" to a leader on Aug 1w. Around that time theres a list of about 5 leaders he was dealing with, incl Putin & Kim Jung.
He's seemed angry & arrogant lately, and with Bolton leaving just days ago this is not a good look.
I agree it could be partisan, but seems Trump is trying to keep it all under wraps under the veil of national security.

Wow, the old days. DTJ, Communist China, NYG82, those names sure ring a bell. Wish I could make a post giving myself some life advice & be able to read it 12 years ago

We now know for a fact there was a complete 10+ songs album by the end of 2000.
How do you think, with the songs we know existed by then, the album would be tracklisted?

Hardschool
There Was A Time
Catcher in the Rye
Perhaps
State of Grace
I.R.S
Madagascar
This I Love

Hardschool I feel is most release-ready and best. Perhaps has alot of potential & with a solid mix & new vocals it'd be solid.

2-3 is a stretch.
You've got:
The Blues
CITR
TIL
Prostitute
Better &/or CD
Which, for all intents & purposes, one would likely say are pretty impressive upon first listen of GnR again. If anything, maybe it was 'ballad-heavy', and aside from them lacked a certain style or genre. When you add in Sorry, which I could see someone not believing too much in the rough cut, it coulda been too much of a ballad album, "Where's the rock?"

Shacklers, ITW, Scraped, & Riad were all pretty bad & probably should've been replaced or removed. Remove them and add Hardschool & Perhaps plus Going Down and release it in 02-04 & its a much better output. Put them on a later album or B-sides/outtakes.

Not just the credit but Robin was really unique in playing style and, I've said this many times over the years, was Axl's gateway to MOVE FORWARD.
Once Axl, the record company or Yoda wanted to be nostalgia, Robin was not happy...
I feel Axl kinda botched it tho. Even those first tours (08?), for years it was mostly AFD/UYI with 3 myb 4 CD songs mixed in. I mean, everyone raved about BH's Nighttrain solo's over & over again. Was The Blues played live? I recall Better & CD being the main ones, and Maddy myb. Anyway, Axl did a pretty poor job of not excaping the past ever & going full steam into Nu-GnR.
If he could redo it, a better way would be release CD in 2002, a followup in 2006, tours for each, by 06 play mostly newer sets. Myb 50/50 but have a less predictable setlist, just do SCOM, WTTJ, & PC and mix in 2 or 3 others randomly.

I'd like a pm with links, if one has it.
Better is one of my fave GNR songs ever, so really interested in hearing its genesis.

It's ashame. This album needed to be released 99-02. VMA's was the time. BH, hype, fairly favorable buzz about it coming soon, still a bad/unknown time for music.
I'm not one to solely put all the blame on the record company, I'm sure Axl was picky & had his problems in delivering/re-recording everything etc, but the 6 years from 2002-2008 killed it, all the hype, and the chance the record company would do anything except give up on it.
Just listened to As It Begins, would LOVE to hear the lyrics to that.

Better's a good track. I like this version (primitive, raw). Kinda reminds me more of Filter "Nice Shot', I like the drums/real band sound, sounds less polished & like it wasn't made in FL Studio.
