So here's my take on politics in general. This is probably going to be a long post...I apologize in advance.
Maybe it's because I was young and naive, but when I was a kid, it seemed like the two parties worked together for the most part for the 3 years and only really duked it out in presidential election years. Carter is the first president I actually have a memory of; Reagan I remember much better (to give some perspective on the timeframe). Maybe they didn't really work together, but it seemed like they did to me. They certainly don't anymore. It's us against them on both sides of the aisle.
For this system to work, the balance is important. Most of the people I know are fiscal conservatives and social liberals on some level. Some lean more one direction or the other, but I don't personally know anyone that at least advertises that they are far left or far right. The country won't survive if we push too far in either direction. We can't afford to be too liberal because the math doesn't work. Most liberals even know that being truly liberal isn't possible. Conversely we don't need the conservatives telling everybody what they can and can't do in their bedrooms (for example). We have to be in the middle somewhere, and most people know that. So when we get too far in either direction, the normal process is that it swings back in the other direction. The further we go in one direction, the further we seem to bounce back the other direction. The more in the middle we can stay, I think it's best for all involved.
So how do we get to a place where the gov't works for us again? Is a third party needed to force people to work together to get a majority? Not sure...I know some countries have other parties and it's not always a better situation from the little I follow. I really don't know what the answer is tbh. Most people reside in the middle somewhere, but nobody represents us. That seems impossible, but that's how it is.
I think Trump is a product of a couple things. One is Clinton and Bernie were both bozos and the republican candidates weren't any better. In addition to that, he was a real beacon of change...he's an outsider that won't play by the rules. In some ways that is great, but in others we're getting what we deserve for electing him. I don't understand why people are so scared of him. I completely get not liking him, but people are genuinely scared of him as though he can actually do something. The truth is he really can't do anything on his own, and certainly not something like nuking NK. There's too much fear mongering going on that is directing attention away from reality and making things a circus. Maybe that's appropriate since so many politicians are clowns.
I have other thoughts, but this is either going to start a discussion as I am interested in other's thoughts or it's going to be ignored because it's too long. Where did we lose cooperation? Did we ever have it? Can we get it back? Do we want to get it back or do we feed off of the chaos?

Now you can go to jail in California if you call a transgender by the wrong sex.
Seriously.
I don't see how this is constitutional.
Yeah, that's not going to fly. It's certainly not nice, but there's no way in the world that can happen. California is one f'd up place.

What is crazy is Steve Wynn personally knew the guy. He was a BIG TIME high roller. So crazy!!
Right. That means he had the means (money) to get his hands on whatever he wanted regardless of the laws.

I am not an expert at this, but if memory serves me correctly GnR owes them one more album. If that's true, the label is not going to put out some garbage so they can meet their requirements, then shop a reunion album on the free market. That's my very uneducated guess on the situation.

I’m a business owner who will end the year paying out about $750k in wages, all kinds of red tape and I deal with beauracracy all the time.
I should be a republican.
Not necessarily, but you should be a little more worried about the financial state of things.
On the other hand it is somewhat admirable that you can set aside your potential financial gains for your socialist leanings. It's not a common combination. Your employees probably love you.

Great defense...now I truly want to listen and respect your opinion more when you’re really nothing but a self-righteous asshole.
You weren't interested anyway because I'm not a die hard liberal. No other opinion/option exists to you. In gun control I've never been a gun owner, yet I can clearly understand why gun laws are how they are in spite of the fact it doesn't make a difference to me. You think that makes me a gun nut. It makes me a realist.
I voted for Gary Johnson (flawed as he was) for president because I knew both other options were complete fuck ups. You think that makes me a Trump supporter. I have no idea how you could even think that, but it sure seems like you do since I won't denounce every thing he does. Frankly while most of the things he says are idiotic, they are just words. I'm not part of the pussification of America that has my feelings hurt when people say stupid things. When he does stupid things, I'll worry about it a little. Until then he's just a blowhard who is way more harmless than you guys think. You're literally scared of the guy, which is kind of funny. I said this a long, long time ago, but there's only so much he can do.
I'm as middle of the road as they come. Fiscal conservative, social liberal provided we can pay for it. That doesn't mean I'm for open borders or welfare for all...those fall under the fiscal conservative part. Granted I am much more outspoken here against you guys because for one it's more fun and also you guys tend to gang up on people that don't agree with you and I always have a soft spot for those being picked on (even when they can take care of themselves). If it wasn't for SG (most of the time), Flagg, and I, you guys would be talking among yourselves patting each other on the back and telling yourselves how smart you are about politics. I prefer a more balanced playing field. If we're going to play the games that have been played in this thread from the beginning, then we'll play the game on a more even field.
At least this is more fun than arguing about Finck.

You just read both of my posts and centered your entire response around 1 sentence of the posts.
Now you have Flagg citing Ann coulter as a source.
Pot meet kettle.
No, see I acknowledged what you said about Republicans rigging the system is true. Perhaps in your blind rage you missed that. I also added that both sides are guilty of rigging the system in different ways. I then went on to address what you always do, which you've now done again. Well done.
90 percent of your post was about what posters on this board do...thinly vailed at my post.
I’ll admit...you did say that....”both sides do it.” But my complaint is what I just presented is the most fucked up example of gerrymandering possible.
And you did what you always do...you didn’t give a fuck.
Name me the last Republican president that was fiscally responsible and I’ll introduce you to Dwight Eisenhower.
In my defense, I really don't give a fuck what you say because I have so little respect for your political opinion that it doesn't really matter what you say. I've voted for more non-Republicans than Republicans over the years. Can you say the same about your Democratic obsession?

My personal favorite quote: "The intelligent man on the street is going to say that's a bunch of baloney," Roberts insisted. If justices blow the whistle on Republican cheating, he believes, the public will inevitably conclude that they're simply shilling for Democrats — "And that is going to cause very serious harm to the status and the integrity of the decisions of this Court in the eyes of the country."
That's a quote from John Roberts.
I find the quote funny because the whole system was created to cheat in the first place. He's basically saying, we shouldn't intervene in cheating because correcting the system would be wrong in the eyes of the voters. In Wisconsin, they created the perfect system to create the illusion of democracy. Democrats continue to garner the lions share of votes overall, but are grossly underrepresented at the state and local levels.
so tell me more about the rules, the protocols....tell me more about how I don't understand the rules.
I understand the rules perfectly, but I also understand that no one is fucking following them. Tell me more about how when Obama used executive orders, it was wrong....but when Trump uses them they are okay. Tell me more....or so much more....
It was a brilliant plan:
1) Creating voter ID restrictions
2) greatly reduce the number of polling places in poorer/democratic voting areas
3) re-district and gerrymander the state so much that we create the illusion of democracy so no one noticesIf you're alright with all of that...if that doesn't even cross your radar as something to be outraged about but NFL players kneeling on Sundays does....will then sir....you just might be a partisan hack.
So please, I beg of you...tell me more about the rules and protocols.
When you are a partisan hack, you can't really get offended if someone else is.
Everybody cheats the system...I've been saying that for years, but to you I am a partisan hack in spite of the fact I have voted for far more independent candidates in presidential elections (going back to Perot) than people from either party. No, because I am for fiscal responsibility over social agendas that we cannot pay for, I am the bad guy somehow.
Here's what happens here if you haven't figured it out already: there are 3-5 people that seem to love to bash everything Republican depending on the month. Anyone that isn't 100% behind them must be either using talking point from some conservative website or partisan hacks (or whatever the flavor of the day is) because there's no way anybody could come up with a thought of their own. Somebody speaks up against something and they get blasted and attacked personally (usually by slc). Never do these attacks address what someone actually said; they attack talking points that were usually not even brought up by the poster. There hasn't been serious discussion going on in this thread save a couple posts since it began. There can't be until people understand what is going on. BOTH sides rig shit in their favor. Does it matter that they do it through the methods you mention above or by passing laws that appear to favor certain groups of people while really hurting all of us just so they can get some extra votes? To me it doesn't. I've been outspoken against all of it for years. We ALL lose while both sides sit besides closed doors together toasting to their prosperity and laughing at our struggles and you guys just feed it further. Congratulations. You are a big part of the problem.

You know most executive orders are actually legal, right? The complaints are about the ones that shouldn't have been made.
