Weird. I wonder how accurate of a picture these videos present. Waters' stage presence and the show itself is just odd. I don't know what to think. I need to think about this some more. It's almost like the Rocky Horror Waters Show.

Without touching on a single other thing niven said, he's dead on about branding. Everytime I see a post with the word branding in it it makes me sick. To talking about music in that term just sucks the soul out. I leave that shit to the sociopaths. I just want to listen to good music.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
I must admit, I'm only a casual fan, but it isn't until next year, so I thought why not. Although I must say, I'm not a big fan of his new album.
Depends what you like. I've never been a huge Clapton fan, except for his early guitar-god stuff. I was just riffing on the fact that his tastes seem to progressively downplay his guitar-god roots in favor of blues.
I've heard he puts on a mean show though, and I hope you have a great time. Plus, the dude's a legend no matter what he's playing, so it's cool to get a chance to see him.

Yeah, that's kind of crazy. Progressive, or "prog", has a definite and understood meaning in music, and DT is one of the go-to well known examples of it.

I think you just bought tickets to see an old black bluesman.

That is my favorite live version of TIL. Dayum. They shine in smaller settings.

I still listen to it regularly, but I still vastly prefer the antiquiet leaks. The only thing missing from them for me is Sorry. I don't like the added drums in Chinese Democracy, nor the change in the vox. I still think of it as The Blues, and I think overall, the leaks are much more dynamic and powerful. They get me pumped up every time I listen, and they're great to sit and drink to. I even think Prostitute sounds better on the leaks, but I haven't pinned down why.
Also, I'm pissed that Axl would cut such a perfect line "like if your ass was you head you could tell". My god, that line alone built a bridge between old and new GnR.
Lastly, before anyone thinks I'm too negative, I still listen to all the versions. If my iPod isn't on shuffle, that means I'm deciding which version of CD to listen to.

I picked up The Language of Fear cheap. Not cheap enough it seems. That dude is one shitty writer.

That is some purple prose there, it is.

All I know is, I got chills watching the two links from DJ's twitter account. They sounded awesome- Axl's voice was great, the mix was audible, they completely refreshed WTTJ (love the extra percussion). Even TIL sounded awesome with DJ's better-fitting (imo) solo, and I'm not a huge fan of it in the live setlist.
The crowd looked pumped- sounds like a hugely positive show all around. I hope they can now start producing something together and carry forward as a solidified band.
