I don't know how you guys on that side of the pond ever got used to the metric system.

It's because it's all base 10 and logical to divide.

100 cm in Metre
1000g in a kg
1000m in a kilometre

Notice a decimal theme going on....

Imperial counting is what seems odd to us.

It's like your portions and numbers are set at random.

12 Inches in a Foot
14 Pounds in a Stone
5280 Feet in a Mile
62.3 Ardvarks in a Hantooee

Is just so abstract  big_smile

Maybe a return of Suicide Girls wink

Alice in Chains was a great idea.

Not sure why everyone seems to dislike Baz, he's a great frontman and his songs can really rock live even if they're not trendy anymore. Have a beer and listen to the pinch harmonics as Baz screams out "Big Guns" - it might be old fashioned but there was some fun in that sound that's for sure.

I'd also be interested in something a little different too like Rob Zombie.

Someone fill me in on Arya. She was in the Tomb of the many faces but then killed the guy that harmed her family. So then they made her blind??

Yeah she blinded the guy on her list as she killed him, so they took away her sight as punishment for killing people on her own list rather than the targets given to her by their god.

Seems to be in order to train her senses for fighting so I wouldn't assume it's permanent.

Axl joked about it himself on Trunk when he said sarcastically:

"Now, when have you ever known me to be reactionary?"

or words to that effect.

I have no doubt many of the people he has got into altercations with severely had it coming. However, it's also fair to say in terms of personality, it seems Axl may react (sometimes)  in situations where some may choose their battles and not react. It seems to be part of his nature for whatever reason.

I was just saying, it's great to see him in good spirits of late, but I also wouldn't expect a fundamental personality shift based on who the current guitarist is either - wrong guy crosses Axl at the wrong time and I have no doubt Axl will have a go.

I'm sure having Slash back eases the feeling of "the world against me" in terms of positive fan and media response, but it's not going to alter his whole personality, and part of that is a wicked temper when pushed to it.

In a show like this (and walking dead) with a broad fanbase, juggling many many characters gets tough. .. most people don't seem to appreciate that this isn't sopranos focusing on only a couple (or 1) main characters. ..if anything this type of show would benifits from 16 episodes a season instead of 10

I'm not sure, the 10 episodes go fast I agree, but what I mean is I feel the pace isn't consistent.

On reflection it may not be that they are slowing it down, it may be that they are speeding it up to the point where the lack of detail is making it feel rushed.

I've not yet read the books but as I understand it:

Season 1-4 was made out of 3 books.
Season 5 was made out of 2 books.

I think the plan is to do 3 more seasons out of the forthcoming 2 more books.

So we will end up with 8 seasons from 7 books - but they are not evenly distributed.

As a whole I thought there was too little progression. Like they're cooking a thin soup.

I felt that a bit last season.

I re-watched them all from the start recently so my wife could start watching and to me it felt noticeable how it slows down and less starts happening.

Still...I'm loving the show anyway! But I hope it works towards a strong ending and doesn't sort of fade out.

I actually still enjoy KOHD and LALD.

I like their pacing within the GNR set to be honest, and they always sound good live and there's great versions of them on record.

The seeker is more curious as there's no offical GNR version of it, and while it's ok, to me it's no where near as interesting as a GNR song or even a cover such as KOHD where Axl's take on it makes it so distinctive. It's just kind of there. It's not harmful either. It's just kind of a wasted spot - especially late in the set where you could add in a rare or surprise track without disrupting the flow of the show.
