What bugs me the most (besides why the hell so many great songs were left unreleased??) is the complete radio silence from the media.
That is why I don't think the band had any hand in the leaks.

It took me a long while to understand that Inside Out isn't an experimental track but just a skipping one.
Do we know if there's a correct rip of the song?

It is, but when you put it next to Madagasca or TWAT, it’s just not as good, imo.

There was just one tape and it was 8 demos from Ju Ju Hounds 2. It was sold online a few months back but hasnt leaked. - source

But why would they need leverage, there's so much good will toward GNR right now. Maybe for publicity?
