She used to troll Axl is the problem, from memory he almost had to take Kurt down to the pavement on her account one time

Angus still has future plans then Ac/DC will be around a while yet.. With Axl as frontman..??
Which begs the almighty question - will we see an Axl/Dc album before another GNR album?
It would be funny, but given the way Axl appeared on Baz's record pre-chinese-release it's not exactly impossible either.
Mind you Angus tends to do things 5 years apart so a new record isn't really due for a bit.

It's parallel world stuff.

Slash is speeding up the track, before the drums even kick in.
Indeed he is.
He also seemed to make a few little flubs during the gig which while seemed odd, he's always been prone to the occasional mistake but generally he's been very impressive on stage these past years.
The question to me though is even if the band has chosen to speed up the songs, it's curious that they don't seem to be in proper time with each other at various places.
They don't have the cohesive feel on a single unit that VR had and GNR has had at times.
That said, the gigs are great, hopefully things will improve as they tour together more. It was just surprising.

Monkey, from what you tell me the wealth gap may even be greater in Australia!
I'm not sure don't have any figures on that. It might not be because your richest are super rich compared to the size of our economy in general. Like I think the market cap of our whole stock exchange is less than the top few wall street players.
However, one thing is certain around here, for the first time in our history this generation does not have a higher quality of life than our parents.
Australia's obsession with using property for wealth creation and investment rather than shelter has caused a housing boom where my peers are having to move 100+ km away from the suburbs they grew up in just to buy a house. Since 1970 wages have trippled but houses have gone up 10 times - so it's proportionally much harder to own a home than other generations.
Add to that the casualisation of the workforce - putting everyone on temporary contracts with no job security and it's pretty bleak for most people I know at the moment.

I'm just going to say it, a radical revolution will never happen. Never.
In the long run I think it has to. Maybe not this election, but some time.
Thing as they currently are, are not sustainable in the long term future.
One way or another there is going to have to be some change and a reestablishment of the middle-class or some other type of redistribution of wealth more broadly or things will eventually entirely collapse into chaos.

Also am I wrong in thinking Zig Zag wasn't playing every song?
I was so focused on Slash and Axl as a kid doubt I noticed...but I don't remember him on the AFD tracks so much.

IMO the sky isn't falling. I've heard much worse performances the past 15 years.
I agree...but then you'd expect an Axl/Slash/Duff line up to be significantly better at replicating the classic GNR sound than DJ or Robin, after-all it was their sound in the first place.
I will state for the record that I'm loving these shows, and I'm nerding out for stuff like the cochella jungle proshot - so I can understand why some feel it's nitpicking.
That said, I won't lie, despite my enjoyment I can hear what Smoking Guns is talking about.
Normally when you see Slash and Duff together you are instantly overwhelmed at the chemistry. Look at the performance at the Rock Hall of Fame. Look at VR when they play brownstone.
There's something about the chemistry of the current line up that isn't normal - it's like they don't quite have their shit together - which is HIGHLY ODD considering the normal professionalism of guys like Frank and Richard, and how with the exception of NR and Estranged and the CD tracks, Slash has been heavily playing GNR tracks live and nailing the hell out of them the past 6 years. You would expect them to come out and devastate - as that's what they normally do - but somehow you can kind of still see the pencil lines under the ink this time - it's great don't get me wrong - but there's def something not quite right about it too.
I'm a matt fan so obviously I wonder if it's that, but then I also worry maybe Slash is losing sobriety or something, or is there some sort of dynamic going on - like there's disagreement how the songs are to go and people are passively-agresively playing them different live to rehersal. It can't just be lack of rehersal - these guys have put together amazing gigs in a matter of days before. Maybe Slash or Frank had the flu?
Something doesn't add up. We have proshots of frank playing all these songs in time a couple of years back. We have proshots of Slash playing them all perfectly a couple of years back.
Why has it changed is the question.
#1619 Re: Guns N' Roses » New Guns N Roses member Melissa Reese » 525 weeks ago
To be honest I don't think the dislike for Melissa stems from the fact she's a woman - ANY - replacement for pitman was going to be hated because there's a large contingent of people who don't want playback/synth/3rd keys player in the band.
Yes the particular insults directed at her have been gender based because that's an easy target for abuse without putting much thought in, but if it were a guy they'd be insulting some other characteristic - looks gay, bad dress sense, looks like from lord-of-rings, redhead with no soul, looks like a convict, big nose..whatever the fuck the most obvious characteristic happens to be.
Just my 2c.

Don't think it was the VMA's but Axl was on TV in 1990 explaining why steven had to go. There's a clip of it in this doco:
