#1641 Re: Guns N' Roses » Scraped Introduction Poll » 889 weeks ago

I listened to one song from Live Era for the first time in like two years the other day and I couldn't believe how bad it was.  It was SCOM that I listened to, and it didn't do justice to the live versions of it.  There's a Paris version of it that I have that is just amazing, way better vocally than Live Era.

The redone vocals are AWFUL on that song and they also fix up a timing screw up on Duff's part.  I'm just curious why Duff and Slash agreed to do this.  Isn't there a pretty abrupt ending on Paradise City on disc two as well?

While I think it's difficult to replicate some of the great vocal work on the album, there is no way that some of the vocals on that live album should be that bad.  I think they really should have been more selective in picking out which live tracks to include.  I wish they had used the 1993 Argentina version of NR than the one that made the cut.

It sounds to me like management should have just told Axl that Slash was planning to attend the show instead of what happened.  The GNR camp looked liked assholes for kicking the guy out who wanted to just see a show.  Couldn't management have just said to Slash, "hey we'll let you see the show but keep it low key because we don't want the misconception that you're rejoining the band."

Thanks!  It always bugged me why they never released the dates of the live tracks on the album.  There are only 3 tracks that feature AFD era gnr, while UYI era gets the rest?

I ate at KFC a couple of times when I was in Japan and I must say that I thought that it was delicious.

They probably have higher food standards and don't use the same dirty oil over and over.

I haven't had KFC in ages since I don't like fast food that much, but I am tempted to try their grilled chicken. They are giving out a free piece on Monday

Sigh.  I too will go and try a sample of this just to see how it tastes like.

#1647 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates » 890 weeks ago

What the heck is Twitter anyway? Can't be arsed with all of the social networking sites

This is a social network site where you sign up and the celebrity/brand name sends updates to either your account or your cell phone.  It is basically a more accesible version of myspace/facebook.

I will however, give you working titles for a couple songs; "we're all gonna die" is one, "These last words" is another. There is one song called "Crucify the dead" & another called "Beautiful, dangerous. We have about 8 songs left to record & I'm really excited about every one.

Crucify the dead definitely sounds like either an Alice Cooper or Ozzy Osbourne song.  He has eight more songs to go?  That means that 14 songs are going to be on the album.  Yes!

Anybody have any idea when the projected release date of the album is going to be?

Oh, I agree, I just get the impression that slash often comments on something without knowing much about it, then when he tries it, he gets all into it...I remember him not liking mainstream little pop starlets, and now he's with Fergie every day...same with this 24 hour online thing...don't get me wrong, I fucking love it...my favorite guitar player...and he keeps me updated all the time...it just felt odd for a moment...but maybe I'm just reading too much into it...

In his defense, I don't think he's doing stuff with all the pop starlets.  Maybe he really digs her voice and talent.  I hate twitter too but if he's using it to update his fans about his upcoming album and giving information it's fine by me.  Unfortunately, it seems that twitter has become a new promotional tool for artists.  Slash is just keeping up with the times.
