Yeah, somethings there about her resigning. Cnn had a theory she butted heads with Pompeo & Bolton, and ultimately they won out. Probably some truth to that, with a mix of other things.
Always an odd feeling when one of the better ones goes, kinda the same feeling when Tillerson left. One things for sure, far too many people in this cabinet have left too quickly.

Man, did anyone watch Frontline last night? "Trumps Showdown"?
So let's see, Trumps elected, before he takes office the dosier comes out about Russian cooperation. Trump holds a press conference that day denying it, with his infamous first "Fake News" comment to CNN. 6 days after being hired Mike Flynn resigns as a result of research of ties to Russians, Jeff Sessions who previously claimed to have never talked with Russians during the campaign, is discovered to have had met with 2 Russians, decides to recuse himself from the investigation. Rod Rosenstein is then put in charge. Comey, who continues with the investigation, is fired not as a result of the Russia probe, but his 'ineffectiveness' into the Hillary investigation, an investigation Trump continuously chanted 'Lock Her Up', yet Rosenstein felt he went too far with it and hampered the election outcome. RodRo selects Mueller, who in the course of the investigation NYT discovers Don Jr met with Russians, to which Trump & Hope Hicks (without consulting lawyers) write a weak reason and release it saying it was 'About Adoptions', which the NYT later discovers is false when they obtain the actual emails that were sent specifically saying the info would benefit them & hurt Hillary. Trump is later close to firing Mueller to which even Steve Bannon (who since left, along with many, many others) blew up over saying that would create a constitutional crisis. Trump hires outside counsel who's first attempt is to say 'It'll be over soon' so that the public gets annoyed when it continues to continue. Trump has most recently considered & been talked out of firing Mueller & RodRo.
Phew, all that said, and people believe there is no collusion. You couldn't write a more glaring example of guilty of collusion, lol.

Saw it thru Redbox. It was just kindof bleh. Some of the characters ran together & didn't stand out, others were carbon copies of the main 11. It also lacked any welcoming charm & cuteness of the original, gone was the jazz bass interludes & funky 70s transitions. It had some sarcastic dialogue responses but they all just seemed scripted.
The heist was kinda dumb too, I didn't get why they just didn't have a different method. Give it about a 6/10, and I'm a fan of the originals. Storyline was a copy of 11 & heist job more like 12. I didn't even see the Karashians. Must've been in it a minute & I was on my phone or something, I finished it, but it didn't engage my interest throughout.

Seems its essentially same as the old deal. Just a new name. "The worst deal in the history of the US" will now be called 'The greatest deal in the history of the US".
It's like 'Clean Coal', it's the same thing as "Dirty Ol' Coal" just with a new name.

I do wanna rewatch the prequels, maybe after the dust settles on these 3 the prequels will be regarded a bit higher, who knows.
Having said that, I feel 'closer' to these 3, although I feel there were some pretty glaring misses throughout it. TFA was a bit too safe, the storyline was essentially a carbon copy of ANH, and its set design and look was kinda plastic, like JJ Abrams Star Treks, not rugged & dirty like the originals (Yoda's planet, garbage disposal, broken down machines). Killing off Hans was a pretty gutsy move for the 1st ep, that worked.
Then TLJ, more than anything, just butchered Luke's storyline. Just bizarre. It had other faults. Now, they're diverting it back to JJ Abrams, which, in my mind, will again be playing it 'safe'. I think they feel they had some close calls & near misses, and don't wanna risk not maximizing on the 3rd installment.
Would've been cool if they tangibly intersected the 3 offshoots, Rogue One, Solo, and maybe a Boba Fett one. All have then intertwine. (I'm assuming Solo & RO never really do)

I kinda disagree. I really wasn't gonna see Solo. Maybe if the reviews were it is mind blowingly good. I've heard its better than its box office figures, but 6 months apart was just too quick a turnaround.
Looking back, TLJ was a bit mehhh. Benecio Del Torro's character seemed just ok, kindof a rehash of Billie Dee. Him screwing them over wasn't some epic plot twist. Luke was just ruined in that role. And not killing off Leia was kinda lame.

SG you missed a wild one in the AM. It was good overall, definitely a back & forth day. The attorney questioning for Repubs, went wayyy soft. Threw up softballs just asking she recall what she can etc... Seemed to play into the Dems hands. She was, believable, although the vocal fry/girlie voice didn't sit well with me. Obviously coached, imho a mistake, I think she would've been better off presenting herself as assertive. Anyway it ended with her being asked how sure, then the whole "100%". I went to lunch & 2 talk radio stations both said Dems won it, one citing it as 70/30 BK gets thru.
Where I feel Dems lost it was seemingly not questioning BK if he's lying under oath, is he 100% sure this never could've happened, and is he really an ideal fit for SC. I didn't watch it all, already sat thru a 1 hour intro in the morning, then BK did a 45 minute open I was gone by then. But to me, he didn't come off as scholarly, or a constitutional attorney, he came off like a whiny grown up jerk on the Peoples Court arguing over his lawn. I ddin't see him as an ideal selection and I think the Dems pressing him with "Keep in mind ytou are under oath" "Are you saying she is lying under oath" etc etc
I think the Dems focused on "He did it" when really the evidence is circumstantial, however that doesn't make him an ideal SC nominee. I think they missed the mark there & went all in on guilt.

Pretty good article about GOP switching strategy.

So I guess the only decision is if he goes thru or not.
IMHO I think the votes will be there.
