Read this earlier:
"Mr. Gorbachev, we're all to blame for this wall" doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
Yea, I don’t know how this can be spinned positively. It’s not the end of the world like some would have us believe, but it ain’t good.
I’m still waiting for someone to advocate a position that does something. Obama did dick while Russia took Georgia and Crimea, and while they and China launched numerous cyber attacks.
The EU funnels billions to Putin for cheap gas. So spare me the sanction nonsense. If you don’t see the similarities between Russia and Iran, I don’t know what to say.
Yes, Russia tried to influence the election. As did our “allies” in Europe. Remember when Snowden leaked that we had a tap on Merkel’s private phone for years? Should she have canceled talks with Obama? Deploy sanctions? Here’s one of our closest allies, and we bug her phone.
Remember how Clinton tried to influence the election in Russia when Putin took power after a 6 year hiatus?
Yea, world powers fuck with each other and spy. How much intel has China stolen?
So either we acknowledge it’s par for the course and try to build positive relations or we respond militarily. Those are our options to deal with any nation.
I just see a lot of people whom were kosher with Obama doing dick while Russia actually took territories and attacked us, now be suddenly outraged and demand “something” because Donnie’s in power.

Exactly.
Lol whatever...hardly a fair comparison.
There’s actually an investigation in one case that has led to many indictments and arrests.
You have the same group of people that led the Clinton Benghazi investigation with pitch forks. That led to nothing.
An investigation supported by angry people that hated Obama took several years.
On the flip side, you have an investigation that’s leading to real things is being led by the same assholes. They’re spending government resources to hide things and put out fires and redirect attention to irrelevant things.
No matter what side of the aisle you’re in, that kind of abuse of power is real. The republicans have been absolutely ruthless since and during Obama. If you’re upset about the reaction to that ruthlessness then it tells me which side of the fence you sit on.
I’m tired of people looking at things in a vacuum.
Speaking of vacuum, can you link one person on Trump’s team that’s been indicted for anything related to Russian interference/hacking in the election. Just one.

Just saw Bill Maher. First half of the show was making fun of Trump. 2nd half was much more entertaining. I'm waiting to see if his #MeToo comments make it into the press.

The same things Republicans are now. But I think they’re wrong. Yes, it’s unprofessional. But the IG report found no evidence of wrongdoing or political motivation. I don’t think the Steele dossier was true, but the FBI has a responsibility to give it a valid look to see if anything further is worth investigating. Honestly, is it any surprise a career, federal law man took personal issue with Trump’s claims, bravdo and demeanor during the campaign?
If they want to matyr him, fire him. The guy’s career is over. He had an opinion, like every free person is entitled to.
No one has put forth evidence that Strzok’s personal opinions influenced his work. The IG stated it didn’t. So people are just bitching because his personal opinion isn’t aligned with their’s.
That's not what I'm saying, I'm talking about how he's being treated like a hero.
And I'll say again, the Democrats would be calling him a traitor and evidence of bias in the investigation, while Republicans would call him a champion. We saw the same thing with Benghazi. We saw the same thing with Clinton's emails. We saw it with the Kahn's whom this agent tried to use as justification, which I never understood. Khan and his wife, neither of whom did shit for this country, used their son's tragic death at the behest of Clinton, for a political score at the DNC convention. The left and apparently Szrok, thinks that being a gold star family grants you immunity from criticism or rebuttal when they advocate a position based solely on that status. What Trump said about McCain was wrong, criticizing the opinion of the Khan's isn't.

buzzsaw wrote:If you can't acknowledge that the Dems set the ACA up to fail on purpose so that they could get to single-payer, there's no point in having an intellectual conversation about it. You can post all the opinion articles you want. You can post gazillion word long posts and it doesn't change any of that.
I'm not going to go back 8 years and try to remember all of the details and I'm sure the fuck not going to waste my energy doing research and then posting opinion pieces on it. Let's keep it simple. They could have done whatever they wanted. So how did we end up where we are today? Why would they give in on their key legislation unless they knew it was bad or they wanted to make sure it was bad?
No they didn't set it up to fail. The dems did not start sabotaging it the day it was passed. That's conspiracy nonsense. The biggest issue was that Obama had an awful advisory team and a shit stew of cooks.
No, they could not do what they wanted, like the Republicans can't repeal it like they wanted and said they would. They've tried how many times with a majority?
Tried without a filibuster or veto threat? Once, and they failed.

Joe Lieberman
The Democrats had 60 votes in the Senate. Are you suggesting Lieberman would have filibustered his own party? Vote no, sure. But filibuster?
They had 255 seats in the house, 37 more than they needed. I’m not going to rehash arguments that were debated 8 years ago and even 6 months ago. The math is there.
All 60 Senators voted for it. 34 Democrats voted against it in the House. They could have passed whatever they liked. They chose the ACA, warts and all.

Anyone remember the one disabled nutjob on HTGTH who was a huge collector? Timebomb? Maybe? After Hammerstein 2006 I realized that only about 20% of the fans are sane people.

So your brother is probably someone who could use an extra $40 a month from his utilities. He probably could use an extra $500 a year from his tax rebate. But fuck people like them getting a modest $40 a month. That $5 from a water bill is laughable! It amazes me how people like you claim to be champions of the poor and are the first to mention their plight, but you mock them with scorn and trivialize small gains for them in every other aspect. For people who pinch pennies, that's an apple pie to have with sunday dinner 2 times a month. I'm sure a kid who would be happy to have a PS3 would like a slice of cherry pie on Sunday with their KFC. But because $5 is change to you or me, fuck those guys. And you have the audacity to call Buzz someone who only gives a fuck about himself. You'll laugh at the poor if it allows you to take a shot at Trump.
