#181 Re: Guns N' Roses » Where do Guns N' Roses Go from here? » 432 weeks ago

Again if the songs are good, then who helped create them initially doesn't matter.

Slash, and Duff are already playing CD tracks so I really doubt they have a problem with them or are just doing it because they have some contract.

Now if the songs Axl has which is what two albums worth of material if were led to believe that, then you can at least get a couple albums out of them. Record new ones and the unreleased gems and split them up. Or just re-record the two albums that are "apparently" present.

I assume songs like: The General (whatever it is called now), Thyme, Atlas Shrugged, Silkworms, Leave Me Alone, Oklahoma, Down By The Ocean, Quick Song, Zodiac, Ides of March, Crash Diet (properly record it), Shadow Of You Love (re-record it)...

Axl Rose has material. And if the song is good that is all that matters.

You can easily pick and choose some of those tracks and put them on one or two albums by recording new shit or any other material the vault has.

And to be encouraging. It isn't like Axl Rose is a bad song writer. Maybe hesitant due to the fiasco of Chinese Democracy.

I don't think it is a label issue either, the three of them can have Geffen by the balls.

Anyhow, I have no faith anything new will be released, but, I like being proven wrong so 2018 they'll have an album ha.

I’m going to disagree with your Metallica. They would never be booked over Guns. The band’s music is never played at football games.

While “Welcome to the Jungle” is a consistent always played song.

Guns is a way bigger band that the public know.

Also helps Axl is a football fan.

Guns will be the next rock band at the Super Bowl in 2019.

Foo Fighters aren’t a bad choice but they’re boring as fuck, and they’re like AC / DC all songs sound the same but, do (I meant do, not don't ha) rock.

If Justin Timberlake aka nipple gate can become a half time act again then Guns to me isn’t that hard to get or such a bloody hassle.

Release a fucking album I hope.

None of this take forever shit.

All that matters is the songs. Songs, songs, songs, and songs. If they're good they're good. If they're shit, they're shit.

I'm glad Axl, Slash, and Duff are having a ball. Looks like it is a good time.

Also, kind of bummed no new music or effort in that regards.

Like you reunite the band for what the pay day? It's been a year plus and nothing.

It isn't hard to lay down tracks.

Again, happy Axl is having fun and looking good.

But, I don't understand the nostalgia act. It is very Beach Boys to be touring and not releasing an album. And even they released a new album on their last reunion. So make that 80s Beach Boys.

A greatest hits band doesn't interest me. And yeah oh there isn't that much money in making records blah blah blah. I think the creative process is key. You don't waste talent like Duff and Slash. You stop in to studios on the road or record on the bus or something. If it is the record label, well fucking just release shit and get out of the contract. Or you know threaten to go bankrupt in order to get out of the deal Tom Petty styles.

Again, not slamming it completely but, get some tunes out there.

I can't understand why they aren't doing the Super Bowl. They could have an album ready, and all that god damn promotion and do a tour. Obviously too late now as the act is booked.

Anyways, maybe Axl doesn't want the throne back. He truly is one of the last big frontman rock n' rollers. That have that special creative juice.

#185 Re: Guns N' Roses » LEAKS THREAD » 434 weeks ago

I want to hear Atlas, and the General, Seven, and Thyme?

If people have the music I have no idea why they're still hoarding it now. It is so fucking lame.

Just leak the shit and let the gn'r forums burn with joy.

#186 Re: The Sunset Strip » Kevin Spacey » 434 weeks ago

Yeah I hate Kevin Spacey. This didn't surprise me.

Shitty he used the moment to come out of the closet, and try to correlate both things. That was bullshit. Luckily the gay community and people at large spoke out against him.

Louis CK thing I was waiting for it to drop. As rumours had been going on for years, and literally when it came to me again. Like when is this going to drop. Boom. It happened. I mean jerking off in front of people is sleazy and perverted. But, he didn't rape anyone or physically assault them. Not condoning it.

One thing that I hate is how they mention Mel Gibson in some of these articles. And its like yeah dude has never sexually assault anyone or has been a women beater. He made an anti Semitic comment, dropped the n word (in a private conversation), and admitted to slapping his ex wife when she was shaking his child. Not in the same league as these guys. I don't think Gibson is anti Semitic or racist. He just fucked up. We all do. And he has paid dearly. If any allegations into his behaviour being terrible was true, it would have come to light after that police incident.

It still boggles my mind how Ben Affleck has a career after admitting to groping a lady. Or Casey Affleck with his allegations.

To conclude, fuck Kevin Spacey. And get consent people.

#187 Re: Guns N' Roses » guns n roses record label situation » 438 weeks ago

I've mentioned it before, but unfortunately I can't say Tom Petty anymore.

Axl just needs to rerecord stuff and if he has some new shit do it with Lindsey Buckingham as producer. No fucking Brendan O'Brien Bon Jovi fuck or any other assholes. That have no idea what it is like to be in a band that was huge / has expectations.

He needs a professional musician with credentials as producer.

The Buck is where it is at. Or Mike Campbell.

Yeah President Trump shitting on John McCain is ridiculous.

I wish I could get the guy's autograph or have him respond to something, but, no, I live in Ontario, Canada, and not the state of Arizona.

Never saw this performance. So good.

Tom Petty was / is special.

Dude had something to say, and good creative outlet, and could write a album of stellar tracks. Bands like Aerosmith can't do that. Not at Tom Petty's level anymore.

In a world where many big cat musicians are greedy as fuck, and suing folks left, right, and center, that never happened with Mr. Petty.

He had artistic integrity [and legit integrity too], and grit.

No one can top this guy.

And I am still rather down about his loss.

The bell tolls for him, and thee.

The world is less of a place.

Man this has been a rough week.

My girlfriend said did you hear the news? I was like, uh Vegas?

Nope, Tom Petty had a heart attack, and may be off life support.

I couldn't believe it. I thought man he's going to pull through.

The news he was dead, not dead. And then I woke up Tuesday morning to the confirmation Mr. Petty died.

I've been crying on and off for the last while.

Fortunate to have seen him in Kansas City. Best road trip of 2017 from Toronto to KC to Chicago.

Warren Zanes book on Tom Petty, will give you a perfect picture of the artist and man, Mr. Petty was.

Still was making great records into his later age. Also, restarting his first band Mudcrutch with his pals was great. Both records are phenomenal.

Square One, and, Night Driver, are standouts for me on Highway Companion.

Something Good Coming, I Should Have Known It, from MOJO.

Forgotten Man, America Dream Plan B from Hypnotic Eye.

It sucks cause Mr. Petty had so much potential, and is now gone.

Dude was true to the music, did't waiver, wasn't a sue hungry cat like the Eagles, and had integrity.

He's inspired me to finally pick up my guitar and learn it.

All I know is the world is a shittier without Tom Petty.

I hope Axl does a Tom Petty And the Heartbreakers cover / tribute on October 8th.

I was fortunate to have seen him live and up close in KC. I kind of wished I brought my DSLR into the show now, but, oh well. I got to be more focused on the gig.
