How trusted can Artlette be? She was fired from Slash mainly due to Pearla. You think she has first hand info or second hand? Probably second hand. Axl should stay out. Hand the songs to Slash and say, "make these Guns songs" like he did with Estranged and November Rain.

If Slash is doing some work in the studio for Guns it wouldn't be some huge secret. Likely many people know or have heard about it, if it's happening.

Agreed. Don't see Axl doing much on this. I think he sees this as an opportunity to have Slash give his material that last edge that has eluded him for a decade or more. Or, having Slash on it is what the label needs to hear to give it the backing Axl wants.

But the money is made through touring, and these shows are going to make them a lot of money.

You are right that there is no need for an album, especially not soon. But they're still musicians with a need to create, and while not as important commercially as before, bands need albums to be relevant. A little praise from the music world wouldn't hurt either.

The article says Slash is already laying down tracks. That doesn't mean anything is happening next week, but evidently the intention to get out songs/an album is there.

The sums are giddying: the fee for Coachella has been widely reported at $7m per show, and a financial split of 50 per cent to Axl, 25 per cent each to Slash and Duff – although it remains speculative and unconfirmed – it must, along with the timing, have made for an enticing proposition.

If there was a time to do it for the money...

“I know they’re doing some recording,” says Vereecke. “They’re definitely doing something there in the studio. Axl hasn’t been there, but Slash is definitely in there and it’s not for anyone else [other than Guns N’ Roses].”

Exactly what we've been waiting to hear. New (or "new") material is in the pipeline.

The Latino vote btw is one of the largest growing demographics, who the GOP desperately need, that Trump has completely alienated from the get-go.

Are we sure about that? I see a lot of immigrants wanting to protect their current gains. I know if I had moved to a new country and floods of people from my country were giving us a bad reputation I'd want that to stop. As long as Trump walks the line carefully he might not sweep the latino vote, but I can see him doing a lot better than any other GOP candidate. Minorities have always been a problem for them, and I don't see Trump necessarily making it any worse. He won the republican latino vote in Vegas at least.

Don't have to worry on that account. Axl's creativity has been his only saving grace these last 25 years.

Some of the stuff Trump is saying suggests he is actually committed to them. The safe position in regards Israel would be to put your tongue all the way up their ass like Rubio, but he holds back, opting for what might be an approach with a greater possibility for success.

In a previous debate he got asked about his intention to "go after families of terrorists", and the opening of a longer response was "we need to get tougher". Slightly hilarious in its brazen admission of such intentions, but also curios. There's little to gain by a harsh line like that politically, but it could be a message of strength militarily.

Normally statements such as these would be self detonations for candidates. And it's not like the American people are begging to go full Rambo in these matters, Trump has to work hard to spin these highly contentious suggestions into viable messages. And still he's the front runner. Last night both Cruz and Rubio went after him, the panel went after him. They fired as hard as they could, but I'm not sure they made a dent. The ridiculous nagging about tax returns and free market health care smacked of being delibaretly obtuse, and it shows how desperate they are getting.

Trump standing in the middle of all of that and winning is the appeal. I'm starting to think he might walk this.

Rubio hit Trump hard tonight...I couldn't believe it.

Absolutely! Seriously, is there anyone who's seen this debate and still thinks Trump has any real ideas, or even remotely knows what he's talking about?

Hard to say. I don't think his rhetoric is indicative of his real policies. It's just talk.

The problem is the other candidates may present better and more realistic proposals, but who believes them? An election isn't decided by intellect. Trump understands this. People like his persona and that's the most important thing.

The rest of the field can talk a big game all they want, they still come off as the establishment cronies that they are.

Previous debates he won by shouting and insulting the other candidates, but when they stop holding back and play the game by his rules he holds up about as good as a wet paper towel. Will we be seeing Trump-bot meme's now?

That's simplifying it. His shouting and insulting is a response to attacks on him. Might look cartoonish if you don't like him, but it is an effective way to rebuff some of the insane statements he's made that are thrown back at him.

And it still seems to be working:

GOP debate Final share of Twitter, Trump... 51% Rubio...21% Cruz... 14%

Bummer. It's cool they are doing that other thing, but him returning was an expectation. Without knowing the story line from the books I can imagine it being good though.

#1909 Re: Guns N' Roses » Update from Izzy Stradlin » 533 weeks ago

Don't you mean a bluff? A double bluff would mean he wants people to be disappointed when he isn't there come April. Tell the truth when people won't believe it. Not nitpicking, just checking to see if I get the meaning correct.

I don't see a bluff or a double bluff making any sense. Making people think you aren't coming when you actually are is something Axl or Slash could do. Izzy wouldn't get nearly the same response to justify not promoting this as a bona fide reunion, merely for the sake of some last minute reveal. And a double bluff would just make the fans disappointed when he's not part of it and they thought he was.

To me Izzy is telling it straight like we would expect. And that means this isn't really a reunion at all. Axl just needed a few replacements in GN'R, and Slash/Duff happened to be available. Notice how he isn't saying he's not involved because he doesn't want to, he's just informing us he's not involved. Maybe Axl never called and this is his message saying "hey, I want in on this!".

Or he didn't like the terms and said "fuck this I'm outta here", then goes on Twitter to squash false rumors because he cares about the fans.

Makes me realize it doesn't matter what anyone says in GN'R. Fans will interpret statements any which way. Because we have gone so many years with just loose rumors and innuendos, conflicting statements, scams and plans that never panned out. Even a confirmed, direct statement made by Izzy personally is met with: nah, not buying it!  14

I was so pissed when they killed off Stannis. Better bring him back in some way.
