#11 Re: Guns N' Roses » If GNR releases nothing in 2023, is this the end for you? » 100 weeks ago
There's a few signs the second one is The General. It's been spotted on a few setlists and Creative Works London who make the Big Screen videos have kind of hinted on Facebook about the song. There's at least a few signs it's The General and no signs that it's say Atlas for example
Hopefully we find out for sure soon
Would be shocked if they only release one song this year, so yeah I think we'll find out what the second song is next month. I've seen the hints that it's The General. I'm certainly hoping it's The General.

MisterID - Thank you so much. Appreciate it. Been a long time. Hope you've been well.
James - Perhaps on 8/11 was just a good guess. I don't really have any inside info anymore. I think Hard Skool released 7 weeks after Absurd, so whatever the second song is this year, I think 6-7 weeks after Perhaps is a good guess.

There's actually a rumor at Mygnr right now that MSL said The General is coming September 22. This has to be false, right? Has he even commented on GNR (besides the RS article) in years?
When the tour was first announced, I looked at the tour dates, looked at a calendar to see what the first few Fridays in August were, and predicted Perhaps would be released August 11. It was just a guess based on my assumption that 2 new songs would be released this year, and that their release pattern would be fairly similar to the 2021 releases.
Last night when it was revealed that my prediction ended up being correct, I was asked when I thought the 2nd single would be released. I guessed either 9/22 or 9/29, depending on how well the first single did. I didn't claim to know which song it would be.

Izzy needs his humble pie play nice and take his 10-20k per night and then make some money in the studio.
Let's say hypothetically that Axl's personal nightly guarantee is 500k, with Slash at 300k and Duff at 200k (these are just rough figures and they could earn more if the tour ends up being profitable).
While Steven may be willing to take 10k a night just to be involved, Izzy might find that figure very insulting.
A deal has gotta make sense for both sides and in this instance, there may not be a deal that makes sense for both sides. For Izzy, he doesn't need the money and it may not be worth getting on a plane for such a low figure especially when he knows the others are making so much more.
For GNR, it may not make sense to spend a bunch of money on a guest for a show that is sold out anyway and you can't even advertise the guest because you never know if he'll actually show up.

Axl taking control of the band and turning partners into employees was kinda fucked.
Was a lot more complicated than that. Fans know that Izzy wasn't happy about the others wanting to reduce his share of touring revenue and they seem to blame Axl for that, but it was a group decision from Axl, Slash and Duff, all of whom had their percentages increased when Izzy departed. Whether you side with Axl/Slash/Duff or side with Izzy, there is no doubt Axl/Slash/Duff were working much harder to promote the tour and working much harder on stage. Their goal was not to reduce Izzy's share. Their goal was to get more effort from Izzy, with the threat of reducing his share intended to encourage him to put in that effort.
Axl never tried to reduce Slash from partner to employee until after Slash refused to move forward with GNR and threatened to go solo and hold the band hostage. I'm not siding with Axl or Slash or taking sides. I have no opinion of who was right or wrong. They were locked over creative differences and both trying to create leverage to get their way. Slash, by threatening to go solo and Axl, by threatening to restructure the partnership. But Slash's threat was first (and he may not have intended to carry it out). Axl was dead serious though.
Not letting Adler have even a cameo insignificant role is kinda fucked.
Adler was going to have a cameo, but got hurt. He'll probably have a cameo in the future if he recovers. The plan all along was for Izzy and Steven to make cameos on several songs throughout the tour. Izzy balked at the money being offered. Steven accepted.

even if you set aside any sort of grudge over comments made publicly, axl has always been very loyal to his bandmates as long as they've been loyal to him and he just wasn't going to cast frank aside when frank has done everything asked and been a good soldier.
That's why the Pitman development was so puzzling.
I miss Mother Goose.
Especially when we know Pitman was involved in making the movie theater trailer.
Could make a few educated guesses on possible reasons he's out, but don't know for sure.
