Stay of Execution is still appropriate….too much work for them to do an album…that’s pretty obvious. I sent my brother the Perhaps video and he liked the song but it was “perfunctory”….look at the definition of the word…something done with little effort.

It’s pretty clear at this point that he took inspiration from not just the sound of NIN but also the scope of that band’s albums. In that context the combination of structured songs and ambient, mood-setting pieces heard in the storage locker leaks makes perfect sense.
NIN’s The Fragile came out in 1999, in all of its rambling, epic scope and people loved it. ChiDem really should have come out around the same time, and been allowed to be just as ambitious.

Steven couldn’t play those massive UYI songs! I am not a fan at all. Just because you sound pretty good on Rocket Queen and Browstone, doesn’t mean you would sound good on Coma.
He is a hack and a junkie which is why he never got picked up by any other quality bands.

Regarding a new album, if they could actually get in a studio and focus on working quickly, you never know I guess. The right producer is key I would think. The band seem in a very positive space right now. They need someone to spark and harness that creativity. Andrew Watt seems the go-to guy at the moment. That new Stones song is incredible.
But Axl being Axl - it's hard to see it happening quickly. And like many have mentioned, father time is closing in.
Axl has a few years to go before “Father Time” puts him at the Mick and Keith’s age!
