Or that Axl was TOLD he was paid or, even, Axl didn't even know Pitman was owed money. This is mismanagement.

I'm totally being speculative here, but he is suing AXL and not Guns N' Roses, right?
For work done for engineering and not for touring in 2011.
Perhaps arranging/producing for a new album that never came out? Hence why he was relutant to ask for the money, as in waiting for it to come out. Once the reunion kicked in he noticed, given the history Axl has of erasing past contributions, that all the work would be erased and the chances of him receiving his money without making a big splash would be little to none?

So, being on a salary in Axl's band only pays $100k per year? Damn, and I thought these guys all were on huge retainers...
Thats probably the retainer as 2011 was an year without touring (except for rock in Rio if I'm not mistaken)

Pitman says Axl wrote him a promissory note for the $125,000 he was owed for more than a year's (regarding 2011 and plus) worth of work. In the suit, he says that amount was supposed to be paid by Oct. 2012 -- but Axl never bucked up, and he's been radio silent ever since.
He says Axl now owes him more than $163k, due to interest.

Exactly what I think. It was about reliability more than it was personal or *only* about the money.
Money does play a factor on it as, if Izzy bailed AGAIN and contracts were signed, there would be a huge problem for the rest of them do deal with.
