I've always liked 'fugly', used in place of 'fucking ugly'.
I tend to use that one a lot.
Or, 'you're breaking my balls' if someone's giving me a hard time. Another good one is, 'grow a set and let 'em drop' when someone's being a complete wimp about a situation.

VR is over. Period.
I wish I had bought tickets to see their upcoming show here. Oh well.
I'll definitely be going to see STP when they come to my area.
Next up is Soundgarden, right James?

I don't think I'm stupid nor I don't think he needs or he should do something. Didn't you get already that he's gonna release it whenever it's ready?
BTW, as far as I know, the album is already handed and may not be his fault (at least not entirely) this time.
But not updating the fans is his fault. You know, some would expect him at least to tell those who care that after all these years the album is done and handled to the record company. It's annoying to read that Brazilian housekeeper's arrogant comments like 'everybody knows the album is done'. Really? Communicating with the fans would mean he does care a little bit about those whose money made him rich, and those he expects to buy and not download the album if it ever comes out.
You make great points.
However, i'm not basing any optimism i have off of Beta alone. I have learned though that when a lot of the same rumors pop up again and again in rapid succession... it increases the chance of it being true.
With that too, i feel fans are getting tired and losing interest (like i as well am), so 2008 is really it. 2006 should have been the year, then 2007 carried some lingering hope. Now if any sales are to be found, it's best to release it and fear the worst and hope the best.
There is an increadibly real chance that we won't get it 2008. But after this year, there really is no way Axl can salvage any of it. If it doesn't come out this year, i'm hoping for a leak and then a GNR reunion. I'd rather have the band back together than waiting for this fucking album.
So for the time being, i'm turning my thoughts onto STP. That's why i feel 2008 is the year. Because i just don't give a fuck anymore.

BelowEmpty.com says:
There is a rumour going around L.A. that there's pre-production for new STP-material going on at Eric Kretz' Bombshelter Studios in Los Angeles. There's no word if the DeLeo brothers are involved, but according to the reports, Eric is laying down basis drum tracks for material that will be worked on once Scott wraps up the current Velvet Revolver tour on April 1st in Amsterdam.
Just a rumor of course, but if that's the case... holy shit.

And i'm not being sarcastic one bit.
With Slash's recent interview about a possible GNR reunion for the hall of fame induction in 2010, i think he's going to be making a phone call shortly to try and find some common ground.
I also feel that Axl has realized this, and i do feel CD has been handed in and negotiations are going on. I think Axl is finally ready to release this thing. Call it gut instinct. I think Axl has realized that a possible induction is only 2 years away now. He's got 2 years to release CD and do a possible tour/follow up to it. I do believe that negotiations are going increadibly slow and it could be until fall or winter before we get this, but i do feel we will get this.
On a side note, i feel after STP's tour we will finally get No 6. A tour would be best for them, so they can get back that famous chemistry they once had. I would hope (if GNR ever want to record together again), that they would follow much the same road.

If that's what happens. Personally I think a lot of people had never heard of scott till he joined VR, I know in Australia STP are only one of those 'cult' bands that a few people know, but maybe that's just limited to the people i've known. I'm sure there will be a buzz for a while...i just wonder how it will last.
If VR's buzz died because they are too legacy, I can't immagine the buzz of a grunge-era band like STP lasting much longer.
But then i've been wrong before!
It will last. There is a demand for STP no matter what anyone else says. They will sell out shows and if they release a new album it will sell fairly well.
They aren't a grunge-era band, they went far outside the walls of grunge. If you step away from Core or Purple, and onto Tiny Music, No 4, Shangri-La Dee Da and the song All in the Suit That You Wear- they weren't just another grunge band. They kept rock alive and were one of the few real rock bands from mid 90's to early 2000's.
I hear STP music played WAY more on the radio and television than i hear VR played.

James, i thought the PPV would be an excellent strategy, and i think it's one an artist would really go for. Axl would be able to present the material in the way he wanted, not the way MTV dictates it.
Old concert footage- not so much. A book by Del James telling us what we already know, or attempting to blow smoke up our asses, don't want that either. But a box set could very well turn some profit. I just don't like the idea of buying the album digital, then boxed set, then the actual thing. They would be trying to pull way to much money out of us then.
I did like the download idea however. $3 does seem really reasonable.
#2440 Re: The Sunset Strip » Layne Staley Writing from the Grave » 910 weeks ago
Where did you find this? That's pretty crazy shit if it's true about those kids. First time hearing anything about this. Have you listened to the song?
I found it on another forum. I listened to the song twice today. Didn't pick up on the 'sing my song' part. The guy did sound a lot like Layne at times. As far as the lyrics, it's really hard to say. I doubt Layne would pick a band with this little talent to send his message to us from beyond the grave.
I do believe in stuff like this, but this just really seems like an excellent form of promotion for them.
