But by Axl responding to it promptly with what he said it has fans talking about this and whether its true or not etc.  Very clever by the GN'R spin machine, it's another good way to take the heat off and have fans getting excited rather than bitching about no album.  Just when the GN'R camp thought there was nobody left to blame for the album not being out this comes out of left field.  No wonder they are running with it.

Just my opinion, of course, but it seems to me that if GNR wasn't in on this from the start their response to it would have been the same as their response to everything else that isn't singers in bands no one has ever heard of accusing Axl of being *gasp* standoffish and anti-social ... no response at all.

P.S.  Just curious, you're suggesting they'll blame Dr Pepper if the album doesn't come out in 2008 to take the heat off themselves?  How would that go?  (I guess it could lend itself to an amusing fiasco ... 16 )

lol - I wouldn't put it past them, but nahh I just meant that their bag of excuses for placating fans is empty so they couldn't even throw us a bone to settle us down and keep us quiet - until this came along possibly out of the blue.

That said I hope I'm wrong and that this is part of some grand clever marketing plan that GN'R have been in on from the start.  But if that's the case why not use the drink Pepsi instead of Dr Pepper (it's more internationally recognised).

Aussie, Dr. Pepper is a Pepsi Product.

Oh ok fair enough - although not that it's going to happen but if you did market something like this presumably you would do it with Pepsi Cola as the product for the international brand recognition it brings as opposed to a smaller line of theirs like Dr Pepper.

What about a free can for people that don't live in the USA - the world doesn't end at the borders of the USA.

If this really was going to be something that GN'R decided to partner up with as a promotional tool simply because of all the interest they have seen has been suddenly generated by a clever independent marketing campaign done to promote Dr Pepper - what about the rest of the world.  I don't believe Dr Pepper is sold her in Oz except for the odd speciality store - what about Europe or South America do they have any market share there?

It's not gonna happen!!!  If they were really gonna partner up with some type of left field advertising like this - they would do it with an international giant like Coke or Pepsi.

Very intersting - it's good to know BH's stuff will be on it.

Sounds like they have simply decided to go with it - any promotion is good promotion!!!

Yeah if it's not part of a GN'R marketing campaign - I bet they probably wish it was now.  Mind you as you say they are getting the exposure for CD anyhow.

However, it's all wasted exsposure if the album is not at a stage where it could be released in the near future to take advantage of the media publicity.

My thoughts when I first heard this were - yes it's legit, but no it has absolutely nothing to do with the GN'R camp.  I just assumed that Dr Pepper were going to cash in on a very clever marketing campaign that will cost them nothing.

On the flip side it simply once again makes GN'R look stupid by poking fun at them.  Given the fact that the thread on this has been deleted from the unofficially funded GN'R website, you tend to think it's simply been a pisstake on behalf of Dr Pepper.  Probably an early April fools joke that was let out of the bag early.

That looks awesome Monkeychow!!!  Thanks for the pics.

The screen is huge!!! The clarity also looks really good - am I correct?  I suppose your biggest trouble might have been whether you had the room to set the seats back far enough from the screen in order to be able to see it all?

I presume you have a quality sounds system to compliment it, so with wooden floor boards I would imagine that room would boom with the sound up.  Bet the neighbours love it wink

The Dolby and DTS signs really cap it off nicely too.  Where did you get those or did you just download them and print them off on a colour printer?

Oh yeah I like the movie posters as well!
