You know, I wonder what the guys in the band think about this. I mean, there's obviously an element of towing the line and picking up the paycheck. Axl call's the shots, but if I were one of them I'd be dying to bust out something else. I wonder if they ever discuss it when the old man isn't in the room?

As others have said, leaving aside any new tracks, any number of UYI tracks are available, plus OMG. Why the hell not?

Reminds me of when I realised back in 1989 that James Hetfield did the same "routine" every night for Seek and Destroy on the Justice tour, "hey, you guys got the album Kill 'em All right?"..... My illusion was shattered.  I thought it was pretty lame to give the same spiel each night, near word for word. But hey, that's what happens.

But at least, at the very least, play a different order, or different set for multiple shows in the same city.

I would love to see Double Talking Jive make a comeback, that'd do it for me. All faith restored.  Add a lengthy rant at the start to give it some agression.....then we'd be cooking.

Serious question;

Am I alone in saying that just a shake up would help? Even if GN'R played the same exact set list just in a wildly different order, I'm not sure why but that would make a difference to me.

I doubt it, but it would be better than the running order that hasn't really changed much in the past couple of years. At least it would give some variance.

Even to see some different covers, perhaps some Nazareth, or some other influence apart from AC/DC. Something obscure they could put their own style on. These guys are all good players, and can turn their hand to any tune. Hearing another brick in the wall again as an interlude, yeesh. Surely they can add something different to mix it up, even if its instrumental while Axl gets some air and a hat change.

It's the fact that it is so static and scripted that bugs me, tour after tour, year after year, as Buzz said. There is no spontaneity at all, and that is frustrating for such a talented group.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that its a warm up for tomorrow and they're gearing up for a marathon at Dublin to pay their dues.

I'm at Nottingham a week tomorrow so I hope it gets better for then

I hope you are right.

When duff said watching it made him sad the original 5 didnt stay together, that really resonated with me, it was like, yeah, me too watching that. Me too.

However, what's been has been, move on etc.

I read this from James Hetfield in the new So What mag thing they are doing, apologies if its already been posted (didnt see it, but hey, I'm tired). This is the way it should have been handled:

"In an interview that is featured in a special edition of METALLICA's So What! magazine called "Metallica The 30th Anniversary Event", Hetfield said, "We learned a lot from the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame about maturity and grace, as far as previous members and things like that — especially after watching other bands get up there and bicker about stupid things. They didn't get the big picture. Excuse me, but there's a lot of people out there that enjoyed that lineup, or a lot of people grew up with that lineup, and why are you not celebrating that? Why are you not embracing that as part of your history? And it's sad and it's selfish. And because we were able to have Dave onstage [at the Fillmore] and Jason [Newsted, former METALLICA bassist] and Bob [Rock, former METALLICA producer] and all these other people that were part of our history, we were able to rise above the bickering and celebrate it."

Thats class, and that was awesome for the fans.

Maybe its a cardboard cut-out that the band use to move around the stage at soundcheck, just to make sure they don't bump into him showtime.

He (the cardboard cut-out) may be on wheels in that pic, glued to a Tamiya RC car, controlled by Fernando.

Now that's something. Good to see.

Bottom line is.....mix it up on this tour or fuck off.....

Yes, whatever else we hear of it, the thing as a whole could turn out to be utter turd. Still, I like the clip, the vibe, synth, vox on it.

I just hope something happens, leak, proper release statement, remix album, official talk of cd2, something. Move forward.

The farting around, teasing comments from either fernando & crew or some online hoarders is just annoying. Lame.
