If they're willing to change, I guess that's good, right? Not sure anything other than chemical castration can solve it. If it's being forced on them I doubt it would work. And I reject the right wing equation of pedophillia or beastiality with being gay.
As do I. But your quote from Pence made no mention of homosexuality or beastiality.

Pence: "Resources should be directed toward those institutions which provide assistance to those seeking to change their sexual behavior."
I'm not going to defend conversion therapy. I think it's stupid. But no one is forcing it on anyone. If you want to play make believe and pretend the man in the sky can take the gay away, I think you're retarded, but freedom of association and all. My point, which you intentionally ignore, is that conversion therapy isn't a campaign point or even of interest to the Trump administration. Conversely, playing make believe was a requirement of the previous administration, that tried to use Title IX to penalize people who didn't play make believe. That's the difference. You want to pray the gay away, go for it. You want to pretend you can change biology by signing a paper, go for it. But when you force others to play in your fairytale, I have a problem. From what you've written, you only have an issue if you play make believe in a story you didn't sign off on.

misterID wrote:Yeah, giving kids conversion therapy, which is where it is aimed, does not require consent. No one is forcing boys to be girls.
Is that what he thinks? That the obama administration played a role in making boys into girls?!?!
If by him you mean 'me', of course not. Just as I don't buy into ID's bs narrative Pence or anyone in Trump's administration advocates conversion therapy be mandatory/used. But Obama did threaten to take money and resources away from people who didn't play make believe. Like I said, there is no scientific study to support all the pronouns and "spectrum" of biological sex. You're either a man or a woman. What you do, how you dress and whom you enjoy sex with is irrelevant of your biological sex. The left doesn't want to back up their ideas with science, so they just call people hateful bigots who look at Jenner and say "If that makes him happy dressing like that, more power to him. But he's not a woman and we shouldn't all pretend that the because he had his frank and beans cut off and took some estrogen shots, he's now a woman." And that says nothing to the new wave of idiots who think they can change their "gender" like a Kardashian changes outfits and have 80+ pronouns that they demand you use or accuse you of hate speech.

Cool. The Obama administration must have believed in magic and were science deniers since Obama thought title 9 covered the mentally ill who thought with the wave of a wand they could become the opposite sex. I'd rather have one member of a cabinet who's a retard and thinks you can prey the gay away than have an entire administration that is anti science and believes in magic.
That's your rebuttle? No one in the Obama administration was advocating for men to be forcefully turned into women for their own good, or that government should fund it. Another false equivalence.
So Pence was arguing that gay people should be forced into conversion clinics to pray the gay away. You have any links to support that? Like an actual quote or video, not a hit piece from ThinkProgress or the like. I'd love to see it. And yea, Obama only wanted to imprison people who didn't use the right pro-noun or play make believe. You'll have to show me where Title IX covers bored 24 year olds who want to play dress up and be trendy.

You so grossly misinformed about this transgender shit..I mean...I get it...it's new and it makes me a bit uncomfortable as well.
But if you look back at previous DSMs (diagnostic manual) you'd see all sorts of things that were once considered illnesses or conditions that are now not.
But you need to try and separate your own feelings about this from the topic at hand. You are really hung up in transgender people. These people account for such a tiny percentage of the population. Hell...leaders of the FBI used to dress up as women.
Sexuality can be a lot more complicated.
I'm not talking about sexuality. I'm talking about the notion sex is anything other than Male or Female and a few people out of every 100k who are genetic abnormalities. A man can't become a woman or vice versa. No amount of wishing or virtue signaling will change that. I don't care how a man or a woman dresses or with whom and how they want to have sex.
Gender Dysphoria is a bonafide mental illness and if surgery helps them cope, cool. But all the idiots claiming they are gender fluid or the guy with a duck dynasty beard wearing a dress claiming he is a woman, or the need to put tampons in the men's bathroom or claiming that a man have birth is complete fantasy and anyone who caters to this new wave (GIVE ME ATTENTION) nonsense isn't doing so based on logic or scientific evidence. You're either a man or a woman via the presence of an XX or XY chromosome pair. That's it.
And I'm not hung up on anything. ID is claiming that conversion therapy is an issue when the amount of people affected by conversion therapy is negligible and I don't know anyone who is advocating or defending it in any real capacity. But call a person with testicles a man and prepare to be called a hateful bigot.

Randall Flagg wrote:Who is calling it homophobic, that isn't blatantly trying to play the PC Card? .
Nearly every conservative online...that's all. Walking lockstep as always.
So the same people you generally accuse of being homophobic, are now upset that Colbert called Trump's mouth a "cock holster"? Which is it. Either the GOP is homophobic or they're (the people who give a shit what a late night comedian says) using the same BS PC/Victim card rolled out by the left everytime someone uses an unapproved word.

Bill passes house by very narrow margin....217-213....
So...seems legit?
Is there a new standard to pass in the house besides a simple majority. The Senate will pass it eventually via reconciliation just as the Dems did in 2009.

I got nothing against Colbert. I don't watch his show (or any late night for that matter), but I saw him open for Stanhope back in 2003 and he handled a heckler better than any comic I've seen. I'm not interested in an eye for an eye. I'm glad we had a bipartisan budget even if I didn't get funding for the wall. But the public isn't stupid and they realize which side behaves like the rules don't apply to them. Hell, even Warren went after Obama this week for following Hillary and taking 400k for a speech while claiming he stands for the little guy. Bernie and Moore have 3 houses and lectures the "wealthy" on excess. It's all a fucking joke and only the stupid on either side fall for it.
