I'd wager about 99% of the content comes from CD Whispers.

It was basically a combination of the Panama and Grenada invasions on steroids and with zero US casualties.

That footage of the helicopters going in with the strikes taking out all the Russian anti air is fucking insane. The US doesn't even have to wait for the softening up of targets before going in anymore....they just go and the path is instantly clear.

I guarantee they're using all that crazy AI tech.

PALANTIR-LOGO-DESIGN-SVG-mobile.jpg

The US has no real peer adversary. Our throwaway 80s tech curb stomping Russia for years is proof of this. So is the fact Russia is incapable of modern day airstrikes the US has been doing for decades. Our adversaries are incapable of the logistics to pull it off.

If the US decides to annex Greenland, it will be achieved in minutes.

That one general last year said in the event of a US-NATO conflict erupting, the US could take Kaliningrad/Suwalki Gap in a few hours.

I don't think they're bluffing.

The best matchups we've had in years.

Predictions....

Rams vs Panthers

I'm going with the Rams...but an upset would not be surprising. Panthers already beat them a few weeks ago.

Bears vs Packers

Bears in a blowout.

49ers vs Eagles

I hate both teams and wish both could be eliminated.

Going with the Eagles but this one is a tossup.

Bills vs Jags

This should be THE year for Buffalo without the Chiefs and Ravens in their way this time. Unfortunately for them,  they wound up as the 6th seed and have to face the Jags at home.

Jags and I don't think it will be all that close.

Patriots vs Chargers

Going with the Patriots but if any game in this round begs for an upset.... it's this one. This could be a shootout.

Steelers vs Texans

Going with the Texans in a low scoring game.

If the Steelers can somehow pull off a win....we may be witnessing Rodgers go on a final Superbowl run.

It's unlikely....but you can tell he really wants it.

Fucking Ravens.... 4

It was one of the best games of the year. Back and forth the 4th quarter.

The decision to simply have Lamar line up the ball for a field goal instead of running Henry one more time for a few more yards was a huge mistake. I yelled at the TV when I saw him do it.

IMO it's time for Henry to go to a different playoff caliber team. His time for a ring is running out.

#25 Re: The Garden » NFL 2025 » 5 weeks ago

49ets looked terrible against the Seahawks. Jesus.

Packers going to stumble backwards into the playoffs.

Josh Allen's record number of starts should not count. Starting for one play is not a real start obviously. So sick of legitimate stats being turned into trash. Hopefully they are one and done next week.

The Bucs-Panthers-Falcons-Saints madness is a huge example of the need to revamp the playoffs structure. Panthers lost yesterday but get in on a tiebreaker fluke due to mediocrity. Losing teams do not deserve to get into the playoffs AND host an opponent with a better record.

This should've been fixed the last time they changed the playoffs.

Texans barely win. There's an alternate timeline where that Colts team doesn't suffer a total collapse the second half of the season.

Jags clinch the division....now they're praying for the extremely unlikely event of both Pats and Broncos losing.

Bears not looking good against the Lions. Not a good sign for the likely #2 seed. They will likely play the Packers next week.

Bears fans are as nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

Rams win today...they get to clobber the Panthers next week. If they lose... stumbling backwards just like the Packers.

Can't wait for the Ravens -Steelers tonight..... essentially the first playoff game.

If they start losing/fucking up with Lamar, I wish they'd bench him and let Tyler Huntley and Henry carry the load.

This Jets team might be the worst team in history. Embarrassing.  They get 5 1st round picks over the next two years. Better choose wisely.

To quote Wasted regarding circus maximus"Would you say this has a Dizzy Loop on it?"

Yeah .. I doubt Ides of March is Nothing. Seems like a huge stretch.

On the other hand, they seemed to have a fetish for constantly changing working titles...and if there was a brief attempt at sticking to a particular theme, it's possible Ides and Circus were two different songs.

How the hell does Oklahoma morph into Berlin? What's the connection?

Look at Seven.... God only knows what that really is. Devious Bastards has a clip of the Mercury 7 astronauts.

Coincidence?  Did they scrap this song.... obviously a Bucket song ...but reuse that clip for Seven?

There's very little rhyme or reason to any of it unfortunately.

I know one thing.....the CD leftovers and the Village leaks show us that just because a song title appears to be epic doesn't make it so...even if described as such eons ago. A song that might have been epic couldn't be because it was simply abandoned/relegated to the "B list".

Did you ever have any luck locating that 2001 setlist pic with Oklahoma as an alt for Riad? Some on Mygnr have questioned its legitimacy. Hard to have a debate either way with the pic seemingly lost media at this point.

It's lost to history.

A shit ton of GNR stuff is gone.

All that Eat My Silkworms crap

The few CD era studio pics of GNR

Shit tons of emails from Brain, Merck, etc.

No one realized back in the day the importance of archiving all that material. Remember...the internet is forever...or so they said.

By the time sic started archiving CD Whispers, a lot of this stuff was already gone.

A chaotic week....

Baltimore is basically done. Yeah they have a small prayer but let's face it....it's over. I liked seeing the announcers point out what I've been saying for two years now...the Ravens don't know how to properly use Henry.

After their final touchdown....scored by Henry...he never enters the game again.

Honestly...they deserve to lose.

Henry needs to go somewhere else and the Ravens need to consider moving on from both Harbaugh and Lamar.

Patriots clinch a playoff spot .. although that's no surprise. We knew they were getting in...just didn't know which position.

Jags slaughtered the Broncos...in Denver. That was huge. Patriots still have a shot at the #1 seed. So do the Jags.

Texans barely beat a garbage Raiders team. Not a very good sign headed into the playoffs.

Pittsburgh hanging by a thread. The final plays of that game and the refs were terrible. Something needs to be done about the refs. It almost felt rigged.

Bills barely beat the Browns.

Chargers whipped a now neutered Cowboys.

Colts have to win tonight just for a prayer.

Chiefs are down to their 3rd string QB.

AFC is wide open. It almost makes you feel sorry for a few of the teams who had a chance but are now out of contention.

A lot of action in the NFC yesterday...mainly thanks to the Lions loss and the Packers loss as well.

5 playoff slots now locked up....

Seahawks
Bears
Eagles
Rams
49ers

They're just fighting for position.

Bears need home field advantage.

Panthers beat the Bucs.... putting the Panthers in the driver's seat for that weak division.

The final wild card slot is going to either the Packers, Lions, or whoever loses the South (Bucs or Panthers).

Everyone else is out.

Would you have thought in a million years that the Redskins would not only miss the playoffs but would be getting a high draft pick?

Did the hardcores finally start doing this?!?

Hell....I recommended this 20 years ago!!

In the late 90s-early 2000s, I noticed something. At some point (don't remember when)....after going to various record stores here in Cali (Modesto, Stockton, Tracy, Sacramento, Monterey, and Frisco) along with checking eBay, I started seeing many sealed copies of LLAS.

Statistically...this is impossible.

10k copies were made in 1986

10k

So how was it 15-20 years later,....everyone and their grandma across the planet has multiple sealed copies for sale?

It's because each and every one of them is a bootleg. One of those companies making those various GNR bootleg CDs/LPs must have realized whipping up a fuck load of LLAS would be an easy gold mine.

I was always attacked when bringing this up on the various sites back in the day. I knew why....no one wanted to imagine that they paid good money for a fake.

IMO....anyone who didn't buy this before the mid 90s, bought it from someone they know owned it back then, or doesn't own the cassette....there's a huge chance it's not real.

Edit

Just checked eBay and discogs.....

A literal mountain of sealed copies for sale.... ranging from $300-$2000

So....25 years after I noticed this, we got even bigger piles of sealed copies when the statistics say there should barely be any.

#29 Re: The Sunset Strip » Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here » 7 weeks ago

Damn...I hope my Pink Floyd fandom never reaches that point. I listen to them a lot. Makes me wonder if I should take a break. tongue

Waters talents mainly reside in composing all those songs/albums using his natural instincts when it came to those albums.

The more ego entered the equation, everything else starts going into decline.

You're right about Pink Floyd being more about the whole than individual members. Together it's perfect....once it starts veering into solo projects, there's something missing from all of them.

Couple times this year I've listened to Radio Kaos. It's a very average album....I do really like Radio Waves....

While listening, you instantly think about how much this could've been improved had it been a Pink Floyd project instead.

What pulls you into Axl/GNR and why you hold them in such high regard even though it's probably not warranted is likely the same reason I do....

All the hope/promise and wasted potential of 21st century GNR.

In the early chapters of the saga, the band members were referring to the songs as earth shattering epics. When I think earth shattering epics...I think Pink Floyd.

Various people who heard the material described it as The Wall mixed by Trent Reznor.

Who wouldn't pine for such songs?

As we now painfully know, each peak behind the curtain in the form of leaks show that such songs were not coming....the earth shattering epics mixed by Reznor would always be a mirage faintly hanging on in the distance.

To the hardcore fan who experienced the saga, there's always that hope that the next leak/song release will reveal that earth shattering epic we've all waited for.

For the majority left, they're all in on Seven being IT.

For me... it's Oklahoma.

In reality, we all know deep down what these songs will be....they'll have a quickly thrown together verse/chorus and it will repeat depending on how lengthy the music is.

How do we know this? It's the pattern for "the second half of Chinese" He abandoned the project before finishing it.

Even knowing that, there's always that hope for one final grand slam....

There's gotta be....right?!? I mean....he assembled a supergroup for fucks sake.

Its awesome. I assume it was only released in Colorado...or maybe it was nationwide but since we rarely drank Orange Crush....

I do remember a few 49ers cans back in the day.
