No, I'm saying the term investigation isn't a dirty word that implies reasonable suspicion of wrong doing. We know Russia hacked the DNC. We know Putin released info to damage Clinton's image.

The FBI "investigates" everything that comes across their desks. Then they end an investigation and either contact the DoJ to get an arrest warrant or they close the file.

What SLC said and what you seem to agree with, is that the mere presence of an investigation means there exists some level of evidence to warrant said investigation. That's not how it works.

I know I was investigated by the FBI. I had a Top Secret clearance. So if I ever ran for office, you could say "Flagg was investigated by the FBI for inappropriate contact with foreign agents."  That'd totally be a correct statement. It doesn't mean the FBI at any point believed I was actually colluding with a foreign agent.

The FBI feels it has enough evidence to warrant an investigation.

That's where you're wrong. The presence of an investigation doesn't mean they have evidence. They're the federal bureau of investigation. Everything they do is an investigation.  Accusations were charged. Russia was behind the hacks. It'd be a dereliction of duty if they didn't validate nothing illegal happened.

Comey repeatedly said (many times today, so I may not have the exact wording memorized) "don't infer my 'no comment' implies guilt or any evidence."  You're doing just that.

That right there throws a big wrench into the narrative Trump worked with Russia to win and that Putin is some big puppet master. His plan failed.

Way to work the case Flagg.  The FBI had to launch a full investigation into what detective over here cracked by watching an episode of Tucker Carlson.

I'm not saying it's cracked. I'm saying that people who have actually been briefed say Putin never thought Trump would win. Whether it's true or not, I don't know any more than you. But it certainly hurts the story Trump coordinated with Putin.

I just feel this is all a distraction. Of course we should all pay close attention to any evidence revealed or anything from someone from the agencies or from the intelligence committee.  If Trump did work with Russia to hack the DNC, or to coordinate anything from said hack, he should be impeached without question. But there's no evidence to support this despite an 8 month investigation. No analyst has blown a whistle ala Snowden. No Senator has come forward stating there's classified evidence proving collusion, asking on Congress to act. Not a single fucking thing.

So we've spent weeks talking about a crime drama, and no one is really giving much thought to Gorsuch or the brand new health care law Ryan is putting up. No discussion on the shit that really matters. We're arguing over fantasy rather than saying "maybe we shouldn't cut this agency" or "maybe we should give Gorsuch a fair hearing".

That's the gag. This is what Russia wanted. We're arguing over the plot of an ABC drama and not doing a fucking thing to Russia. It's not even a story asking for consequences. Everyone has forgot. We still don't have a full cabinet and it's been 60 days without a single bill out of congress that means dick. Trump is fighting over immigrants from 6 countries no one fucking cares about and whom we lack any formal diplomatic ties with one. I can't recall the last person from Sudan who shot up a mall or blew up a recruiting office. So it seems like we already had this pretty much under control.  None of this has to do with the Presidents power to increase external security, but it affects no one and is a total waste of time. Petty bullshit and internal drama. And we're falling for it hook line and sinker.

The answer to some of them is yes. But I think you don't get the actual definition of an investigation. It's not a sign of guilt or wrongdoing. The FBI investigates people everyday. The majority of the time nothing comes up.

This is unique because one candidate clearly broke the law and the appearance of impropriety (secret hangar meetings and not recusing), and another candidate had a bunch of angry people leveling accusations without a shred of proof.

Is it a story, absolutely. The people have a right to know. Just as they had a right to know the FBI was "investigating" Clinton in July. But since guys like Mitch only post to see their own ideas and not read what others think, he misses that I called and still do think, for Comey to resign based on the letter he sent. But him resigning now with Trump's investigation would be a bad decision.

There's an investigation which Comey can't comment on. He further clarified his lack of comment should not be read into as possible wrong doing.

That's the problem. All of you for months have been posting about Trump's collusion with Putin. Comey came out today and said in the only way possible there is nothing to support this suspicion.

We knew there was classified material on Clinton's server. There was evidence of wrong doing. That's not the case with Trump and to conflate the two is nothing short of partisan hysteria.

Am I doing it right?  Or are we only using fake news when it comes from Mother Jones or Think Progress?

And no, I don't give any credibility to Alex Jones.

As of now this is a non story with potential to become a story.

It's been a non issue since day one when not a single Democrat, with all the leaks, could provide a single shred of evidence. That hasn't changed. It's fan fiction for those unwilling to accept they lost the election.

What evidence do you have of collusion?

I didn't say there was any, now did I?

I said it's announced today that Trump is under investigation for possible collusion with the Russians.

You claimed the opposite, that Comey cleared him of any wrong doing. This has not happened. The only thing Comey cleared was the ridiculous lie that Obama spied on Trump.

I'm so sorry. Here I thought you'd been posting for months that Trump and co colluded with Russia.  My mistake.

With Democrats howling collusion and Jill Stein even trying to get recounts because "Russia hacked the election", I'd be shocked if the FBI didn't look at it. It's not like a civil rights icon got hours of screen time for boycotting the election saying Trump worked with Russia. But when Comey repeatedly says " please don't take my lack of a comment to imply we have evidence of wrong doing", and certain people do just that, it's totally on me for even suggesting you thought something was amiss and had a slight justification to do so.

Carry on. I guess neither you or anyone else believes Trump colluded with Russia.
