#301 Re: Guns N' Roses » DR. PEPPER ISSUES CHALLENGE TO AXL ROSE! » 911 weeks ago

Havn't posted for ages as there has been nothing really happening, but its good to see that there the silence has been broken from Axl even if it is about a soft drink Lol.

We are all excited that this thing may eventually hit the shelves and I guess one day it might, but is it just me but does a stunt like this just turn 'GNR' into another corporate whore like Britney, Madonna, or as Bill Hicks would say any other 'sucker of satan's cock'?

OK, I know they claim to not know anything about the promotion (sure.....) and its good (yet odd) that a big brand would actually mention and endorse them, but I think its a shame that in a years time we'll probably see Axl on the telly saying 'Buy Dr Pepper, drinking this stuff is soooo good I forgot to make a record for 15 years'.

Still I guess it would stop people crying about Slash doing Guitar Hero etc so much so maybe its a good thing!

Anyhow, I guess it doesnt matter, because they have only said that they'd do it if it comes out this year.

Cynicism aside, it finally looks like the ball is rolling and the album may actually be released. However if theres a Dr Pepper voucher in there, I'll be downloading mine thanks.

#303 Re: Guns N' Roses » *FALSE* "The Collective's" unofficial statement regarding C.D. » 917 weeks ago

Just saw this on HTGTH and dont expect it to be there for too long!!

Its easy to call this an elaborate fake as I don't see the record company giving up any information, let alone this, to someone who randomly emails for an update.

But then again, I take pretty much everything concerning these guys as rumour or speculation. I'm sure one day something will come out that is actually truthful but it always seems like 'crying wolf' to me sadly.

Interesting to see MotorMouth on the tracklist - wasnt that the supposed leak that was rumoured to be floating around a week or 2 ago?

Still if its true: then we really are in for a massive treat with a MTV Cribs edition with Richard Fortus 16 Its been delayed so he could save up for a bigger house to show off.

Wow, amazed at the disrespect for Mr. Bale.

Go watch The Machinist, The Prestige, American Psycho or even that pseudo-1984-ish-matrix-alike flick he did a couple of years back (forgot the name)...

Seeing him connected to this movie actually makes it look like it has half a chance of being decent...

Agreed, Bale is great in whatever he does. He was the only thing that saved American Psycho. I loved the book and Bale was Patrick Bateman down to a tee. Shame the film itself was rubbish compared to the book though.

He excels in the Machinist and also in 3.10 to Yuma which was also a great movie. Its worth checking out Harsh Times as well. He's one of too few great actual actors around these days.

#305 Re: Guns N' Roses » *RUMOUR* - Possible Guns N’ Roses Tour In The Works? » 918 weeks ago

Can't say I'm surprised to hear this, even if it is just a rumour at the moment. There must be a few markets left that they can squeeze a few quid from.

If this is more than a rumour I'd hope that they'd at least have the decency to mix it up a bit a throw some more UYI in the there but I'm sure that wont be the case. Still if theres no more Rod Stewart tunes then they'll be doing something right.

I dont know one person here in the UK, myself included that will give this travelling carny the time of day again for as long as they continue touring without an album. At the very least if they do tour Poland or wherever they should at least say 'This is a warm up for our proper Chinese Democracy World Tour (Leg 4) starting on xxxxx following the release of our brand new single on xxxxxx and album on xxxxx its finally coming people.'

Oh well, if it happens say goodbye to a 2008 release I reckon. If you havn't already!!

#306 Re: The Sunset Strip » Iron Maiden Concert in Perth Tonight » 918 weeks ago

Saw Maiden at Reading Festival in 2005, they were awesome. Maiden were the first band I ever got into back when I was a little kid and I still listen to them constantly without getting bored. Off to see them in July and expect a gig nothing short of amazing.

What did you think of the Perth gig?

It's looking as if this thread is being directed (and maybe was intended in the first place) at taking shots at Slash.

I'm not sure exactly why people want to do that, but it just doesn't seem logical to me.

Agreed. If people want to recognise him as a rock icon and he can benefit from his talents  and 'brand' then so what? Good for him. It all reeks of jealousy. 'Oh no, Slash has been made the face of Guitar Hero'. We'll I cant think of (m)any other people worthy of that title anymore.

People should be grateful that he's the only one keeping the GNR name in the press anymore. If it wasn't for him then GNR would rarely get a mention in anything apart from some rag having a dig at their inability to release albums.

As for how many adverts will he appear in this year - well I don't care. He's obviously in demand and its good to see him doing stuff.
