I'm not knocking the guy for prior films, its just the forcefeeding aspect that I hate. Ever since our country got dumbed down this decade, we have to be told who to like and it is a huge turn off. Thats why we got fed Lohan, Hilton, Vin Diesel, etc. and now Christian Bale. I do not like manufactured movie stars that come rolling along out of the Hollywood spin machine.
Well I don't know if it's being told per say. Lohan and the tabloids chicks definintely because you constantly see them everywhere. Someone like Christian Bale I think is an entirely different league as you really don't see him everywhere and being shoved down our throats.
My thinking with this film concerning him is they saw what he did with Batman and giving him a shot with Terminator, although 1 and 2 are tough acts to follow. Believe it or not, I never even heard of Christian Bale until after Batman and that is when I started watching is prior films.
Bale is a great actor. Just watch the Machinist (on of my fave movies) and Harsh Times. He was also great in American Psycho and nailed the character perfectly- but the film was rubbish compared to the book despite him unfortunately.
As for the Terminator - well I doubt even he can help such a knackered franchise. As they say 'You cant polish a turd'.

Please have a little respect ?
agreed. its sad how some people are so bitter with Axl that they even use tragic events like this to crack lame jokes.
Who the hell is Sharon Maynard?
Took me a while to work that out as well!!!!

I doubt Locomotive knew she was dead, or he wouldn't have made the comment. Besides, Axl is out of harm's way and the fire seems to have eased down.
Also, in times of distress/tragedy. humor always eases the tension.
Reports that a filterless Gitane and box of chocalotes were found by the front gate are still unfounded....
Forrest Gump??
Sorry, I didnt know she was dead. I wouldn't intentionally make a joke about a dead person. Just trying to lighten the mood!!
The main thing is that all is well now.

I know, it's where he rooted himself, but it's kind of aggravating knowing he is putting himself in danger so many times and every year.
Didn't he get almost burnt a few years back ?
Alot of stars take the risk, it's a very celebrity studding community. It's like living in Florida, hurricanes are just what you have to deal with, that's what insurance is for.
Although, the police did say that the first round of fires, they believe were deliberately set and there is an investigation going on so it's not mother nature in that case.

Your right though, I guess it is expected to be a regular occurence when you live in an area notorious for fires, its just one of those things the residents have to contend with. I guess Yoda was off that day and forgot to warn Axl.
One thing for sure, I hope those that set the fire managed to burn down their own house in the process.

No Keef?
Oh well good to see Slash on there... He deserves it even if it means nothing whatsoever.
#326 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash and Duff have discussed doing a GNR reunion show » 929 weeks ago
Good point, but how come after 14 years, Axl still isn't willing to close the door on the possibility? Should be an easy thing to do for a man approaching 50 that apparently has as many albums in his vault that the old band released.
All it would take to permanently kill off reunion discussion once and for all is for Axl to say its never going to happen.
I think though James that there are still a lot of people who are following the band/brand in the hope that there will be a reunion. Without that hope they may just jump ship and give up on Axl's band entirely. Its only constant speculation and rumour that keep the GNR name (barely) alive.
I think Axl needs to keep that possibility alive to continue to generate interest. After all, this is a guy who cant get over Slash at all and has used former members to promote shows etc.
As for Axl not ruling out the possibility.... Well he doesnt exactly say much about anything let alone anything regarding a reunion. I think his pathetic Albany rant and the press release about Slash says it all really - he's just too immature to make any amends.
#327 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Izzy Stradlin | "fire, the acoustic album" out now » 929 weeks ago
I cant get Itunes where I'm from so I havn't heard any of Izzy's last 3 albums. None of my friends like decent music so I'll never get to hear them unless he releases them on CD, which he wont. Very disappointing...
How is the new one? Any good?
#328 Re: The Sunset Strip » Which song do you like better? » 930 weeks ago
Black Crowes every time.... One of the best bands of the last 20 years for me...
