#331 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash signs with Gibson’s new Record Label » 206 weeks ago

GN’R tour just ended and already the hype machine is starting for new SMKC…!

Ten second teaser on Instagram, with Slash saying "I think the record itself is the best one we've done so far...  we're showing no signs of slowing down"

Nice tasty riffing, sounds promising!

Great, so he sings Mickey for 95% of the tour, and the last show he brings rasp back?

I guess he doesn’t care about blowing his voice out because the tour is done.
But Fuck man, if I saw them at the start of this tour, I’d be asking for my money back.
The first show back was horrendous compared to this. Full Mickey, forgetting words and skipping lines.

Glad I got to see Roth with Van Halen back in 2013. What a night that was - Stone Music festival in Australia, Van Halen co-headlining with Aerosmith, and Matt Sorum’s Kings of Chaos on the bill too.

Hope he’s ok, but he’s implying that he’s not in the best of health either.

Nirvana, who’s frontman has been dead for 27 years, manages to release a box set for Nevermind, better than the AFD one, where all the members of the band are still alive.

That pretty much sums it up…

I don't visit their merch site often, but the more classic-looking UYI shirts must have been on there for a while - I'm sure I'd seen them listed before the new anniversary merch was added.

They certainly weren’t listed with the 30th anniversary fugly stuff when they made the social media post last week. If they were I probably wouldn’t have complained so much about merch they were selling to celebrate it.

Man, what a missed opportunity by TB to re-release it for the 30th anniversary. I’d buy all that stuff in a heartbeat, but not the new fugly shit they put up.

isn't this it?

Not quite. Like the one monkey posted, it had red and yellow one side and blue and purple on the other side.

I’m surprised that one is up though, I didn’t see that when they first posted the link with all the fugly new anniversary merch.
I guess they must’ve listened to the negative feedback and put some half decent stuff up as well.

Yeah, “Guns N Roses was here” was used in the 80’s on tshirts, also featuring the woman victim from the robot rape scene original AFD art usually pictured below it. Kinda implying that GN’R had had their way with her…

I can’t believe that in 2021 they’d want to associate themselves anything to do with implying rape…!

I don't think that was the band's idea. I remember seeing a poster like that in the early 90s but I believe it was made in Sweden. Not an official product.

They were everywhere here on tshirts back in the 80’s and they were official. I found it listed on eBay here:

As 10-11 yr old kid at the time I didn’t quite understand it, but I kinda figured what it was implying “guns n Roses was here and had their way with this woman with her undies around her knees”.

And I still think they shouldn’t be associated with things like that in 2021, but hey, I’m not in charge of their Fn marketing am I…? tongue

I think the comment about the song being about “lower education” is obviously a joke.

Axl seems to be playful and chatty during this run of shows.

He’s not retconning anything about the song’s meaning, he’s just having fun introducing it.

Yeah I know they used it a bit in the old days but now it dominates everything.

Ditch it.

See how ridiculous it is when used for other bands?

Funny after all these years, we think a lot a like. Lose the f’n lose the blood surrounding the classic logo…100% lose the chinese cover crap “Guns N Roses was here” and anything to do with the shit art we were given for CD.
