#3431 Re: Guns N' Roses » London, May 31 (14 Years and Dead Flowers w/ Izzy!) » 728 weeks ago
Video was posted at MyGNR. Izzy sounds good but Axl has the Mickey Mouse voice. Sigh.
It's not his Mickey Mouse voice. That's when he tries to do the rasp but fails, here he deliberately opts for a less demanding approach. Guy's 50, not much else he can do. Props for realizing his limitations.
I'm just glad Izzy is around.

There Was A Time, better quality:
Ron is nailing this. First time I've heard him do Bucket justice on TWAT.
Somebody should bring a "Blood in the Water" banner to their gig.

Wanted to keep my old subscription, so 600$. It was 5 years ago though and I still have it.

I'm turned on by this. Next album could be great if this is the direction he's going in. 0.45 is cool. Great sound, great vocals.

Reporters are using twitter posts to write their articles now? Oh dear..
Jackson is just a tool nowadays.

Russian mathematician Anatoly Fomenko has for the last 30 years been working on what he calls "the new chronology". As a mathematician he discovered statistical anomalies in the modern chronology of history and finding that astronomical eclipses did not match with what we're being told.
The story is a lot more complex than that and if you want to read his books 2 of them are available for free on Google.
I found this comparison between roman rulers to be particularly interesting:
Lucius Sulla (83BC-78BC) 5 years - Lucius Aurelianus 5 years (270AD-275AD)
1 year strife - 1 year strife
Sertorius 6 years - Probus 6 years
1 year strife - 2 year strife
Pompeius 21 years - Diocletianus 21 years
Pompey and Ceasar joint rule 11 years - Diocletianus and Constantius joint rule 11 years
4 year strife - 4 year strife
Julius Caesar (defeater of the joint rule) 1 year - Constantius (defeater of the joint rule) 1 year
The second joint rule (triumvirate) 17 years - The second joint rule (tetrarchy) 18 years
Augustus 37 years - Constantinus 31 years
Birth of Jesus Christ 27 years into Augustus' rule - Birth of Saint Basil the Great 27 years into Constantinus' rule
Tiberius 23 years - Constantius II 24 years
Caligula 4 years - Julianus 2 years
1 year strife - 1 year strife
Claudius 13 years - Valentinianus 11 years
Nero 14 years - Valens 14 years
And that's just the Julio Claudians!

#3437 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Fantastic New Slash Interview (includes new music!) » 732 weeks ago
Why does that swedish asshole continue to harp on wanting to know about David Bowie when interviewing a person of pretty much equal stature? It's not like Slash doesn't have interesting things to say about himself or what he's done. Or maybe he's just a former pulp writer who thinks sexual relations between celebrities are the most interesting thing ever. Surprised he didn't ask if Slash thought Bowie was really gay.

You are right on the 2 we can see. I say you should do the next one so I can give it a try too.
