Damn, Axl sounded terrible. I was really hoping for its live debut he’d do it a little bit of justice, but that was Mickey all the way through.
That was a struggle to watch it all the way through.
Did he say anything about the song before or after?

I know I'm probably the only one, but I really hope there's a studio version of Wichita Lineman. That's the best Axl has sounded since 2006. Probably one of the most emotional things he's performed, imo.
Agreed. And why couldn’t they include that as a track on this Hard Skool release instead of two more songs we don’t need live versions of.

Is this gonna be another CD-like promo for new music from GN’R? ie. none?
Seems so damn bizarre that outside of a couple of cringeworthy “Hard Skool is Fn here” social media posts, there’s been nothing else coming from the band.
I wouldn’t even know the single was on sale on the website if it wasn’t mentioned on mygnr.

So let me get this right… Fernandon’t was quick to shoot down the rumour of the other EP track list, only for them to announce this days later?
Shit, this band is a fucking joke!
It’ll be interesting to see the difference in Slash promoting the new Conspirators album next month, compared to radio silence from GN’R.

How fucken weird. Drop a new single then don’t say shit about it at the show, or even play it…
But hey, this is GN’R. Business as usual folks, business as usual

Van Halen did this and it was lukewarm at best.
I thought Different Kind of Truth was absolutely fantastic, and a great album to close out their career with.
It may have had old riff and song ideas used, but they re-recorded them all into brand new songs.
I don’t think it’s comparable to the Frankenstein of CD leftovers with Slash and Duff added on top that we seem to be getting.
As for Hardschool, having listened to it a dozen times now, the sheen is wearing off. And while I like it a whole lot more than Absurd, it still sounds demo-ish. I don’t know if it’s the mix or being brickwalled that gives it a processed sound.
Like, if you play something from UYI, then play this after, it doesn’t sound organic.
I guess I should be happy though…
Oh the struggle of being a GN’R fan!

This came out in NZ first given the time zones and it’s already the 24th September there. We’ll be next in Australia in about an hour, but maybe there will be an official announcement tomorrow (24th) in the US? Are they playing a show then?

Just listened through and I think I dig it. It still sounds like a lot is going on in the song, that I can’t make out, but I like it way more than Absurd. Who would’ve thought, two new GN’R songs released in 2021?
Edit. On second listen I can hear lots of soloing going on throughout the song. Is that Fortus shredding on the left side opposite Slash on the right side in parts too?

Smoking Guns wrote:Randall Flagg wrote:With Mexico cancelled and Aus/NZ very unlikely, how many more shows do they have to unveil it before everyone is commenting on which European show it debuts next summer? The answer is 6.
Need to do soon plus the new Slash single is about to drop.
Source for that? I know his album is slated for 2022 but last I heard they haven't began to put it together yet. Material is there but both Slash and myles are currently busy.
Myles was quoted recently saying that the album is already completed, and it was mentioned in a recent Slash article that a new single will be out in October, with the album to follow in February

No Hardschool tonight. GN’R like giving their fans blue balls for years at a time.
