Just read an article on yahoo about it. Billy Joe Armstrong and Matt Sorum come off pretty good in it. Didn't really mention anything about the others except Slash, about Perla telling him to go. Basically it was about Axl not showing up.
The user comments are a riot..

Back then he could pull it off because he was the best frontman on the planet. That's not the case anymore.
I see what you're saying, but I'm hard pressed to think of anyone better. Some are in his league, but it's a rare breed nowadays.
He could definitely pull it off I think. It's his antics that prevent something like that from happening.

The Super Bowl, shit that'd be a fuckin' gig.
I know people hate it, but I just want one more time to see Axl have a stadium of 70,000 people in the palm of his hand UYI-style.
Sue me
Don't think the Illuminati ritual requirements over there quite fit his bill. "Oh and Ax, we need you to mock sacrifice some children while you do the grandmaster sign under this pyramid".
Meeting would be over in 10 seconds.
I concur on the stadium thing, but you kinda get that when he plays the big festivals.

When I saw the thread title I immediately thought wtf? Not bad though it turns out. For being two vastly different bands they do have a lot of similarities.
Shame the world can't just see them for what they are. A huge band that produced an inordinate amount of cracking tunes in a short time span. All the while bands like Metallica have every press journo and random housewifes praising them.
They deserve a lot more credit.

u know something
Gonna take a moment to give Myles Kennedy a lot props and respect.
The amount of balls it had to take to get onstage under this pressure and microscope to perform must have been unreal.
You shouldn't drink tap water man.

Attitude wise Izzy continues to show that he's the only one who "got" what the band was all about. Integrity, doing your own thing, no nonsense.

Btw, did they honor his request to not be inducted?

I think they are doing it for the fans. Slash even said he didn't want to do it but his wife told him it was the right thing to do for the fans. Duff has said over and over that he doesn't give a shit about the Hall of Fame, but he has had a lot of fans write to him about it and realized the fans care about it in a big way.
Shocker.
They should take a look at this thread. See how happy they made their fans.
