what some of you guys dont seem to be getting is that the same old ax/gnr has already hit rock bottom. they are catering to mostly the diehards at this point. they'll keep going to shows as long gnr is in decent form.

I think Axl is burnt out on the thought of new music. CD sold far less than expected and there was clearly some sort of a clusterfuck with the release that axl didn't like.

axl may be thinking to himself "they don't want new music, and the last time i tried to release new music I got short changed by azoff"

and we know how hard it was for him to get to the release stage.

i'm not defending the lack of new music. Just reminding us all that it's not like he's sitting at home staring at his work and thinking to himself, hmmmm i should release this shit soon. maybe after this tour. if i'm bored.

all i've read the last few weeks, besides setlist bithcing, is bitching about no new music and claims that there isn't gonna be new music every time a band member hints at it. if you don't believe there is gonna be new music you should be comfortable with that fact at this stage.

axl has little interest in releasing music. never has. it's plain and simple. i also think his mind is on touring and rhof right now. as soon as rrhof is over we'll have a better idea as to the chances of new music coming out.

i too have less interest in the band without new music but we are starting to sound, as a whole, like this is '04 and we don't know better.

I love slash and all but apparently I'm the only one that thinks the november rain solos are average. the outro is good but the main two I could take or leave yet everyone else seems to think they are the holy grail of guitar work.

no way - fans remember the lyrics, fans that have never once rehearsed the songs.

only nerves would cause him to forget the lyrics.

i think it's habitual at this point.

im sure it stems from the stage fright.

the other excuses are just that.

keep in mind axl, himself, has yet to admit to this.

so when he's blaming technical difficulties, jet problems, etc. he's justifying to himself the tardiness.

stage fright would cause a person to not want to go on stage

but it wouldn't cause them to avoid wearing tighty whitties or perform well.

once you get him on stage he's a mostly uninhibited version of himself.

i definitely believe there is substance to the claim of him having stage fright and that it has caused reluctancy to perform at many times over the years.
