If wikileaks was all about making information public, then why aren't they making all of it public?  If you're really interested in having a civil discussion, try to explain that without putting any spin or propaganda out there.

That's yet to be determined. I have faith, but if it should turn out they're yet another front not releasing anything of real significance I wouldn't be surprised either.

But as I see it this isn't so much about wikileaks as it is about our treatment of them and their leaders. That goes to show alot about what we've become.

Oh it's in me alright, but the process of rediscovering it in others can often be difficult. However, the public consciousness about these things have increased pretty dramatically the last decade (a few on this board as well), so I guess it's a matter of reaching the tipping point. Hopefully sooner than later.

But the real problem is that historically people don't rise up on information, they do it in perill. As long as the government can keep delivering those benjamins they remain in a pretty comfortable position, and due to fractional banking it's a hell of a lot easier for them to do so than in older times.

The banks should be the main focus here. They're the real perps, rest are just puppets and hangers on.

Vedder sucks. Cornell is the real snub here.

What is so special about Cornell as a lead singer? He's got a good voice and at least used to write some decent stuff, but as an entertainer? Pretty generic you ask me.

That can of course be said for a lot of that list.

Yeah, we're a few. But I guess the reason is our government has taken "bread and circus" to a whole new level over here. Scandinavia is basically a free lunch.

I admire the passion. If my countrymen could only show an ounce of that.

All in all I wonder what the governments game is here. Americans seem to be split between "he should get the chair" and "he's a hero, but he'll get the chair". So as opposed to your generic terrorist there aren't alot of points to be had here.

Whatever happens expect to see the wikileaks event to be used as an excuse to neut the internet and rush in another set of laws from Orwells box.

Yeah, that one I heard (not that the case had alot of legs to begin with).

If he gets extradited it should be interesting to see how the government is going to spin it without implicating all the other news outlets who printed these documents.

I don't think so (media is all over the place here atm. after the bombing).

To be fair, although a bit crude, he (or they) do present some valid arguments.

Only in Scandinavia does suicide bombing end up being a good thing.

Otherwise, the timing of this is impeccable as always.
