Good on you. I agree, I dont like Libertad as much - but I've seen them twice this year and the gig at Download festival was really good. One of those occasions where the sound, the crowd, the band, everyone and everything was 110% and they sounded amazing. will look forward to hearing your review
Where in Australia are you seeing them?
Thanks, yeah I saw them twice in 2005 when they toured Australia and both shows kicked ass.
And regardless of whether I like Libertad or not, I still support their playing of pure rock n roll, and in this day there aren't many bands left doing that.
Oh, and I live in Sydney, so I'm going to see them at the Enmore Theatre.
Hey monkeychow, yeah, we should definitely meet up at the gig!

I don't think the Aussie shows are selling too well. The first Sydney show is advertised as supposedly being 'sold out', but you can still buy tickets for it...? And I don't think the second show is selling very well either.
And it's a damn shame too, because they're playing MUCH smaller venues this time, and tickets sold really quickly last time they came here and played at much bigger capacity venues. Go figure... I guess people just aren't that interested in them anymore.
I don't really like Libertad, but I'm going because it's still Slash, Duff & Matt up there, and I know they'll put on a good show!

Please Baz, if you're going to release another cd, at least have the sense to get back with the band that made you famous. If you're not going to, just retire.
I'm assuming you haven't heard Baz's new album in full yet to be making a call on the quality, but the few snippets I've heard sound WAY better than anything Skid Row have released without him, so I know I'd prefer to hear more solo albums from Baz that are of this standard than a lame Skid Row reunion instead.
Maybe you're not getting any enjoyment from Baz releasing a new solo album, but I am and it seems many others here are too, so why should he retire simply because you don't approve?
Hey, does anyone know when Angel Down is coming out in Australia?

Baz has recorded some great ballads with Skid Row (I Remember You, 18 & Life, Wasted Time, In A Darkened Room etc) so until I hear the full version of Falling Into You, I won't write it off just yet.

Cool, it sounds like it'll be a solid heavy rock album from start to finish.
#4086 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Which is your preferred choice? » 936 weeks ago
I'm suprised Libertad has so many votes, because I just don't like it much, so much so that I don't even listen to it anymore. I busted out Contraband recently and it still rocks from start to finish.
#4087 Re: The Sunset Strip » What do you think are the best produced albums? » 937 weeks ago
It's a given, but The Black Album to this day still sounds great to me. Those drums, those guitars, those vocals. Imagine Justice with that sound and production James!
#4088 Re: Guns N' Roses » Love Is A Bitchslap With Axl » 937 weeks ago
Had a listen and it sounds ok, although I find it hard to make out Axl in there, and I'm unsure of whether he really adds anything to the song anyway.
Stuck Inside is still my favourite that I've heard so far.

Would also love a PM from someone please...

While not groundbreaking, this doesn't sound like 80's to me.
It sounds like early-mid 90's metal that Skid Row made on Slave To The Grind and Subhuman Race. And I think it stands up to that stuff that Skid Row did on those albums too, which is really good to hear, especially when Skid Row without Baz leaves allot to be desired...
It probably won't get allot of radio play, but it'll certainly get allot of spins in my car and by others who appreciate good music like this in this genre.
