If the next album will be Buckethead/Finck/Freese/Brain material with the other guys little additions, than I wouldn't call that new. Next would be a better word. But I'm afraid we are years from it anyway.
#422 Re: The Sunset Strip » GNR fans are Uneducated ON MUSIC??? » 672 weeks ago
Just had a talk with a friend who said GNR fans R uneducated on music.
Her theory was this: Because GNR seem so perfect, many people never move beyond them. GNR fulfills all their rules for what constitutes the perfect rock band so they halt there and never discover other forms of rock n roll....At first I wanted to punch her, but.... It may be right.
For instance how many GNR fans could recite the lyrics to Stormrbinger (Deep fucking Purple) ???http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzGk8cYJVjc
:izzy::izzy:
It's an interesting theory and quite likely. When I was a teen in the early 90s, I really didn't have too much desire to find new music after I found GN'R. They didn't have much material, but that was A+++. After GN'R, I was looking for albums - I couldn't stand those records where you got like 1 or 2 good songs and the rest was filler. But I found Led Zeppelin, Skid Row, late Beatles Queen etc., so I'd say that although I wasn't open for a lot of bands and sometimes lost patience too soon with a new band, I did explore quality music. GN'R set the standards higher, for sure.

Face it: they can write on their own or in separated groups, but DJ Ashba and Axl can't write all the instruments. They are not Beethoven-cathegory composers. As long as they don't get the whole band into a room to work on the ideas, there aren't anything we could call a song. I'm sure that's what Dizzy meant, cause that's how creative process works in rock bands. So in a nutshell: they still have stuff from '99, but nothing new since 2006 (and possibly 2004).
We're in 2012, so in some aspects Axl was closer to a new album in 1999 than now.

I get the feeling that Slash is having his wife speak for him and Axl has team Brazil speak for him, so they can throw all the shit they want since its technically not Axl/Slash saying it
I strongly disagree. Perla is an attention seeker, who has a famous husband, and that's all why she's "famous". Slash publicly told her to shut up in the past, I don't think he'd have sent out the wife to hunt down Axl.
I don't think that Axl would be behind Team Brazil's nonsense all the time, either. Sometimes I think they tell what the Boss/Child says, but more often than not they speak what they think to be the best for Axl/them.

I dunno.
I hate the Axl vs Slash war FROM FANS - as I like both guys music.
But people a step closer to it - like Axl and Slash. I can see why it's personal to them.
Axl quit GNR to form his new techno GNR. Then made rock anyway not techno. Now tours playing the old guys riffs with people who look like them. Then tells them to go fuck themselves at HOF.
To us it's just like sport...but I'm sure to Slash and Perla that's pretty offensive....and no doubt Axl and Beta have a similar list about slash.
I think maybe the gloves are coming off now. Now there's no reunion. There's no need for them to be diplomatic about Axl.
The main problem with this case is that there was nothing to get angry about (except Axl having no regret about the break-up). Perla's attack was childish, unnecessary and unexpected. I have no problem with them trashing Axl when he deserves is, and it's really quite often, but now it wasn't needed at all.

Guess it hurts never to get your hands on your hubby's reunion fee.
I'm not sure that she expected the huge announcement at Kimmel. In the past she definietely tried to bury the hatchet and did everything she could to bring the two together again, and she definietely changed standpoint and tone after her plans fell appart. Even Slash was angry for his lady's comments.
On the other hand I don't think Slash would earn more as Axl's employee in a tiring tribute band, than what he earns as the leader of his own emerging band, which has more and more success with time.

D, Neither. She's just pissed and a bit(?) obsessed with Axl. Sometimes women can't tolerate other divas.
#428 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl On Kimmel Oct 24th, Live Interview! » 672 weeks ago
A normal, fun Kimmel interview. Axl came off well, spoke, gave gifts too. Good stuff. No complaints. The shows are designed for this, not to discuss the Chinese Democracy lack of promotion part. No ones cares. Except us.
Agree. It is what it is, and Axl did well. Couldn't have done better, except the little white lie about his offstage doings.

gibbo wrote:Oh wow.
Just wow. I literally don't even know what to say back to that. What an ass.
I didn't like her first reaction, but this was pretty funny.

Great job, guys! The new background hurt my eyes first, but I got used to it. Looks cool for me now. I also like the new emoticons.
I have only two complaints (so far ) When I wanna see the New Posts in certain topics, it often directs me way earlier, so I need to scroll a lot (or even turn a page) to really see the new ones.
The second is the same as metallex's.
it's hard to follow posts within each thread now, and clearly see who's posting, as there is no division between where they start and end.
but thanks for the lot of work and creativity you put into the new lay-out!
