Flagg you must be joking, the Republicans have to want Clinton to beat Obama. They can play the standard politician v. politician game with her (a game they've won twice in a row). Also, with McCain's occasional liberal tendencies Obama supporters who hate Hillary (a number growing every day) could easily jump to McCain. Clinton supporters would find it easier to go to Obama.

Obama as democratic nominee will be president.

As the recent article in the Aspen newspaper put it, "Angry White Men" will determine this election.  Women and minorities always support the Democratic candidate, no change there.  If it comes to fruition, and it has, that Obama associates and even supports radical elements of the black community (black seperatists and 9/11 wackos count) than the "Angry White Men" will vote for McCain.  It's that simple.

Fair point about the Clinton skeletons, but this church crap is nearing its end, and even if it continues, McCain will not be able to use it against him. McCain recently had positive words for Reverend Parsley at a campaign rally, and Parsley advocates destroying Islam because it is a "false religion", and actually wants a new "crusade".

Parsley's church is also on the verge of losing its tax exempt status.

In other words, McCain and Obama are in the same bed regarding the religious nuts.

America will not run for McCain. The country is in a mess, and there's just no way McCain will get the presidency. A vote for McCain is basically a vote for 4 more years of Bush.

Chevy Chase could run against McCain and beat him. McCain is not a viable candidate. Republicans were insane for hitching themselves to his wagon.

A McCain presidency would only be feasible if the economy was flourishing, no wars going on, our alliances more stable, etc.

The country cant survive a third rate Ronald Reagan wannabe presidency.

November is going to be a bit similar to 92. Its going to be a vote regarding the economy and anti Bush, and Obama or Clinton is going to defeat McCain by a larger margin than Clinton beat Bush/Perot.

Yet, Americans trust McCain more on Economic issues than Obama as a recent poll showed.  Obviously they support him National Security moreso than any other candidate.  If the Economy is the issue you belive will determine the election, most Americans trust McCain more than any other to resolve it.

So you provide one article that has a loose string of evidence to one incident, and argue that supports the thesis that the Catholic Church is the most evil institution in the world?

#4295 Re: The Garden » Vatican lists "new deadly sins" » 913 weeks ago

I certainly have my own reservations and issues with the Catholic Church and organized religion in general.  I simply wonder how one can label it the most evil institution ever?  Specifically when the message of that institution is love thy neighbor and do onto others as you would have them do on to you.  We all know there are problems in how this is followed and executed.  I just don't believe one can inteligently show them to be an evil institution, let alone the most evil one.

#4296 Re: The Garden » Vatican lists "new deadly sins" » 913 weeks ago

You make an outrageous comment and condemn an institution that has had more impact on Earth than any other, and you tell me I'm pissing on everything?  I take it you don't have an intelligent response and fail to see the irony in you telling anyone they're "pissing" all over something.

One day...

That's a very ignorant comment.  While I am by no means Catholic and certainly disagree with them on a multitude of social issues, I would say that the Church has done far more good than evil, and even if you want to dispute that, they certainly aren't the most evil institution.  Stalin's Russia, Hitler's Germany and Mao's China would fair much better for that title.

Just because your beliefs follow similarily to Scientology, doesn't qualify you to lash out at Catholicism or Christianity.  In all your rants about positive energy and seeing yourself do something, it always revolves around self gain; hardly the pincale and message of Christianity.

She didn't campaign in those states either.  They were able to follow the news and watch national debates.  Obama didn't gain any momentum until Super Tuesday, so she still would have won in Florida or MI.  Campaigning certainly does work, but Obama has been given special treatment from the media, recent studies have shown this.  I'm certainly not taking away from Obama's abilities as a debater, but all was fair in Michigan and Florida.  Personally I think all delegates should have campaigned in Florida or Michigan and told the party elite to fuck off.  What's more insulting, telling two states that we don't care about you and your votes mean nothing or telling a loser like Howard Dean to get bent?  Are we a democracy or aren't we?  Just because Obama lost in those states, shouldn't influence you to look at it objectively.

#4299 Re: The Garden » Today's Primaries » 914 weeks ago

Obama will not win Ohio.  Ohio is a red state, albeit slightly.  If he couldn't win Ohio in his own primary, I don't know why you think he would win in November. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Obama is only winning states where he won't win in November.  Obama won't win in Texas nor any of the other bible states.  I'm certainly not saying he couldn't win in the general election, but it is anything but a one sided fight.

With regard to Michigan and Florida, there will be no re-vote.  The reality is that Obama fucked up by removing his name from the ballots.  This bullshit about name recognition is just that.  Obama had won in Iowa and gone around making speeches.  In all honesty the last thing an Obama supporter would want is a re-vote in Michigan and Florida.  Hillary will win PA and she'll have the momentum going into the election.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't at least one of those two states a winner take all?  Now is where you'll see the Clinton machine at its finest, calling in favors and debts, grabbing every pledged delegate and super delegate they can.

Enjoy the fight till the bitter end democrats.  The GOP will be united ready to win Ohio in November and win the general election.  I have to say, no one can bungle a sure thing like the DNC.
