Not to go all U2 fan boy on you guys but $100 for a GN'R show right now is a fucking ripoff. They're stage production and show doesn't warrent that. U2's current tour is averageing $100 per ticket with floor seats going for $55-$75 and nosebleeds going for $35. This isn't a slag on Gn'R this is a slag on all bands. There's no way a Gn'R ticket in 2009 should cost as much or more than a U2 ticket simply based on stage production. I find it strange.
Isn't blackberry funding the tour or did they help pay for the stage?
I have been following that tour and I have not been impressed with the setlist at all. They haven't even done White As Snow yet. I really wish they would perform Native Son instead of Vertigo, god that song sucks, but, that is wishful thinking here. Anyways back on topic.
So they are charging 100 dollars for tickets. I believe I paid eighty dollars or maybe sixty dollars in 2002.
Tragically I think I am boycotting the tour, unless I am presented with two free tickets. I just can't wrap my head around losing a lead guitarist who was in the band for 10 years (do we count 1998 for Robin) almost if not longer than Slash, if we are counting 1987-1995.
Nothing against Bumblefoot, cool guy, but, losing Buckethead saddened me. I don't think DJ Ashba can fill Finck's shoes creatively.
I am not trying to turn this into a hate mongering speech, I just am saying I would like to support the band, if they have the rightful lead guitarist in the lineup. Last time I checked he isn't touring with Nine Inch Nails anymore. And he did re-join the band before, where is the harm in giving him a ring and if he accepts firing Ashba?
Hopefully, the tour is a success and you guys get to hear the whole album live.
Sorry and Prostitute would seem epic to hear, as well as the Meat Loaf inspired This I Love.

Anyone going to the Toronto show?
I got into the band in 1998. I don't know if I want to go to a Toronto ACC gig again.
2002 was special with Buckethead and Robin Finck.
2006 with Izzy Stradlin and Robin Finck was a good show, even if it had that cunt bag Kid Rock.
I just don't know if I am ready for no lead guitarist from the 1998 onwards era.
I would like to see some of the new material performed and like Axl, but, man Robin was the shit.
Sad face

I just think it is pathetic.
Two lead guitarists gone.
I wish him well, but, I am not interested in seeing a new new new gnr without Robin Finck. Watching them without Buckethead was painful as is.
Luckily I got Izzy Stradlin that night, tragically it came with Kid Rock as well...
Anyways, I am glad I got into newer and far superior music.

Holy shit, we can ask him how his audition was.
OMFG!!!! THANKS AXL! WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP

If Robin didn't want to be in the band anymore, how can u blame Axl for that?
Should Axl wait till 2010 to tour?
I think Robin didn't want to be in the band cause he realized Axl is a fuck case.
Look at how he has promoted this album.
I wouldn't want to be in a band with an unpredictable jack ass, who destroys the best post Slash line-up he has ever had.
Is it really that hard to get your shit together? Apparently, for Axl Rose it is.
You have had Slash, Duff, Josh Freese, Buckethead and Robin Finck quit on you. I think that says something about the person they work with.
If Axl keeps his band members in the loop like he does with his fans, how can anyone predict that he would finally release his album this last year? Likely, Robin committed to touring with a band that wanted him and was going to be actually doing some studio work and touring, instead of jerking off in a corner crying about Slash and the evil record executives.
He (Axl) had his chance to fix this situation and clearly his ego was too much for him to do anything. I can't wait for the blame card on Robin.
I can't wait to support NIN when the come to my town.
It's too bad that Axl blew his chance. What a waste of talent and time.

P.S. I find it hilarious this band might try a stadium tour. Like they would have to open up for a band like U2. They could not headline a stadium tour unless it was a big festival and even then I doubt the majority of people would want to see this band headling as there are far superior bands. It could work if they did a hair metal style tour, with shit bands like Poison. I doubt a band like U2 would want Guns N' Roses opening for them as they are a unreliable band.
P.P.S. I think new Guns N' Roses could definitely headline small venues like 5000 tops and maybe like fairs, casinos etc...

So this was the final nail in the coffin for me.
I loved Buckethead, it was hard seeing him go. As long as they have Robin right? Cool.
Bumblefoot came, I was like nice guy don't really like him in GNR.
Robin goes on tour with NIN and doesn't you know confirm or deny his GNR status. I was alright with that, always a faint hope he might come back.
Now that this news has hit, I am done with this band.
It's bad enough this promotion for the album was terrible.
After seeing this new band with Buckethead in 2002 and the Hammerstein 2006 line-up. I can't support this ridiculousness.
I can't wait for Axl's blame game.
Long live Bucket and Finck.

I will re-listen, soon. White As Snow is the best track, in my opinion.
Deep lyrics.
"Where I came from there were no hills at all
The land was flat, the highway straight and wide
My brother and I would drive for hours
Like we had years instead of days
Our faces as pale as the dirty snow
Once I knew there was a love divine
Then came a time I thought it knew me not
Who can forgive forgiveness where forgiveness is not
Only the lamb as white as snow
And the water, it was icy
As it washed over me
And the moon shone above me
Now this dry ground it bears no fruit at all
Only poppies laugh under the crescent moon
The road refuses strangers
The land the seeds we sow
Where might we find the lamb as white as snow
As boys we would go hunting in the woods
To sleep the night shooting out the stars
Now the wolves are every passing stranger
Every face we cannot know
If only a heart could be as white as snow
If only a heart could be as white as snow"

I am a U2 fan. I got into the band back in 2000 when the All That You Can't Leave Behind album came out. Before, hand I didn't know much about them.
So No Line On The Horizon is personally a huge let down. I digged the last album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.
White As Snow is the only song I like off this album. It reminds me of Wave Of Sorrow (Birdland). I find it epic and love this song. The rest is a let down. Until further listening.
Get On Your Boots? Has the worst lyrics by U2 ever.
2.5 stars out of 5 in my opinion, as it stands.
Now I might like the album if I sit down and listen to it in whole. I just did snippets of some songs. But, I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight, Stand Up Comedy are horrible.

Mr. Mickey Rourke won best actor at the Golden Globes in a drama film for the Wrestler. During his thanks he mentioned Axl Rose for letting them use Sweet Child O' Mine, for free as they had no money.
Cool shout out to Axl and hopefully his comeback gets better.

Dear Mr. Rose:
1) Is there any truth to the rumours years ago about the Welcome To The Jungle remake that was going to be used for the movie Black Hawk Down? If so will we ever hear that version if it exists?
2)This is twofer and coincidently question two. What is your favourite Beach Boys song (That is not from Pet Sounds)? , Would you ever work with Brian Wilson?
3) On a personal level who was a bigger "C Un Next Time" to you, Kurt Cobain or Trent Reznor?
4) How come the Beach Boys in your opinion don't get their due?
