one thing that hasn't been mentioned here:

dont overlook the significance of estranged being played this tour.

after not playing the song for over a decade that's a sign that something has changed, considering the meaning of the song.

"Tons of people are holding up signs for different songs off the records every night. "

"yeah, we've actually been pretty cool lately."

how many relationships can be described in that manner where the two persons dont even talk or see each other in person.

unless there's something i dont know they are slowly repairing their relationship which entails talking in code through the media and friends of friends lol.

i would have to agree, but there is bound to be people that are fans of slash's new stuff that may hope for a song or 2 off of the new disk (it got tons of promo and hype)

well, if they are fans of slash and his new stuff i'd say they know he's not in the band and, therefore, don't object if they are still attending the gnr show

also old school gnr fans that have fallen out of touch that would like a trip down nostalgia lane...

yes, very similar comment to one of mine a page or two back. the old schoolers that sorta lost touch with gnr when they bought houses, had kids, etc.

my take on that is if gnr became less of a priority at that point and they are now going to take a night in of gnr nostalgia after all these years of being clueless to his existence.  they can still do so. initial response will be "wheres slash?" or "who the fuck is this dude?" but if they did fine without slash for over a decade they will be fine with just axl.

let's leave buzz out of this  16

just kidding buzz  19

very true about the hecklers but if slash where there they'd still be there heckling about something else.

i dont think were still truly debating that so much as:

how many of the persons that dont know slash is not in the band are at the shows?

and of those people how many are truly affected by his absence?

if the definition of being a non hardcore fan means having no idea who is in the band before you go to a show i'd venture to say most if not all of those people would enjoy the show just the same.

I don't know. I'm not even talking about seeking the stuff out. Just buying a magazine and finding something about GN'R inside. Or hearing it on a radio show. Seeing something on VH1. Or going to a website that has something on the band. Even if you're not a fan, chances are in 15 years you would run across something about GN'R somewhere. And we're talking about people who like GN'R enough, not a die hard, to buy a ticket to a show or buy the album.

i agree

but you gotta assume there are a few that dont

athletic ability in a qb is just one of many, many qualities a qb can possess and no way the most important.

intelligence, poise, leadership, accuracy, durability.....

all more important features

the vikings have a qb names joe webb who may be the most athletic qb in the league and he is now there 2nd year bench warmer and was recently passed up by 1st year rookie christian ponder as mcnabb's replacement as the starting qb.

look at vick, whom webb runs the same exact 40 yard dash as.

he hasnt produced anything other than letdowns.

qb's succeed where they manage the game and throw the ball

and when the rb's and wr's are the ones that make the athletic plays.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9PsUH1fmJk

by the way, joe webb has also returned kicks, played wr, and has more rushing td's, per play, than any other qb in the league.

im too lazy to paste clips of these examples though.
