Maybe like Baz says, it takes him a while to warm up his vocal cords and maybe with the werid Rio schedule, he didn't get to properly. if that is the difference.. then he has my permission to be as late as needed for my show.
what does axl do when chics are over and want him to sing to them? lol

axl's way too sloppy with remembering the words and cues to be able to rely on backing tracks to a sinister level

Yes he does. Axl has a backing track on just about all of the CD songs.
It was especially noticeable at the Rio show when Axl would drop out. I could swear there was a backing track on This I Love when Axl dropped out that kept playing.
