#5571 Re: The Garden » Obama takes lead in polls » 921 weeks ago

Alot's happened recently though RF. There was an interview last week that bombed with McCains VP choice, & economic failures on Monday rendered her irrelevant, unemployment #'s were relased a while ago & are the highest in 5 years, likely to get worse, 3 MAJOR corporations have collapsed & the Stock market had almost a 10% drop in 3 days. And McCain has done no better on economic policy, with things he's said recently & in the past. Polls always have a delay, for example they'll start the poll today (Thursday), finish it on Saturday, & then release it on Sunday. So there's usually a 4-5 days lag time for current events to show up.

Oh, and that website you always used, Realclearpolitics.com  http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls … a-225.html has Obama up in 5 out of 6 national polls. I also saw on TV this morning Florida is now tied & Obama is up 2% in Ohio.  I'll try to find an article about it & paste it.

EDIT: It's actually in the article BigBri posted, the latest CNN/Time poll. You may not buy into that poll which is understandable, but you should realize where there's smoke there's fire.

And no, Obama is not going to get "spanked" in the debates.

Just picked it up. Only heard about the first 5 songs or so but I love it. Sounds close to the black album. Definitely better than Load & all for me. Funny story, I was at the checkout line & the black girl at the register picks it up, looks at it, and says "Damn everyone's buying this."

Fuck yeah, two thumbs up!!

You're completely missing my point. Romo simply put the ball on the ground for no reason. Nobody ran into him not even his own guy. He simply dropped the ball after he had full control.

McNabb did the same thing in the 4th quarter!!!

You won by 4, and the game WAS as close as the score. An 18 point win would be a blowout, this game was not.

I know you'll find my opinion biased but I think it's a result of the poll results are now starting to be taken after the Palin interview and Mondays economic news & McCains statements about it that he's still covering up for (People are Fundamentals), and people vote with their pockets. By Friday I think Obama will lead in almost all national polls (Gallup, Rasmussen, USA Today etc)

While polls change, I'm pretty sure Obama will ride this into at least the first Debate which is next Friday I think. Which is a good thing for Obama to go in confident with a lead. Then a week later is the VP debate too.

I found this one funny...

10. Philadelphia Eagles: How is it possible that DeSean (Premature Throwback-Elation) Jackson spent three years at the world's greatest university?

I just don't like when people try to "discount" points (with few exceptions, like the SD/Broncos game)... that shit always balances out in the end. The safety shouldn't have bit on the pump fake for TO's 70 yard TD so that shouldn't count. Cowbioys got lucky with a kickoff return so that shouldn't count. Or McNabb shouldn't have fumbled in the 4th Qtr so that shouldn't count. And the Giants wide receiver shouldn't have caught the football on his head last year in the Super Bowl so that shouldn't count therefore they are not SB champs.

It all counts. It's like Bill Parcells says about "You are what your record says you are." In otherwords "The score was what the score says it was." Cowboys won by 4.

TO is a great WR, that's why I said TO is TO. Barbers was really good in that game, but I didn't watch Cowboys game 1 so I'm not going to judge him off 1 MNF game. As for Romo, when you have TO, Witten, Barber etc it's like Matt Leinert was at USC, a QB with good people around him. He isn't great, keeps on proving it game after game.

The defensive pass interference call was obviously an offensive pass interfernece on the Eagles giving them the ball on the 1 yard line and Romo's gaff in the end zone added up to 14 gimme points for the Eagles.

The defensive pass interference was a bad call but there was a blatant facemask on Westbrook that went uncalled a few plays earlier (as well as another later in the game). Would have been 15 yards. Those evened out.

Romo's mistake was his own fault, he fumbled it. you can't say "that shouldn't have counted". DeSean jackson made a boneheaded play & the ref should have seen that.

Marion Barber's a good RB, & who knows how good Felix Jones will be. TO is TO.  Romo as MVP is a reach.

Exactlly. Point, counter-point.

It's like those ads for local congress & all 'He voted to raise taxes 43 times" then you see the opponents "he voted to raise taxes 52 times"...
