Now we're posting blogs?? really?? Isn't Fox News even saying good things about her? It's even an obviously biased blong in how she calls Obama the "Kenyan" citizen and incorrectly asserts he is not qualified under the constitution to run (how so?? I thought we went thru this one already)

It's failing miserably & Obama took an 8 point lead in polls. McCains RNC may end up being postponed due to Republicans wanting to react better to a potential hurricaine in the Gulf states. You reap what you sew I guess.

You conveintly avoided her support of the Bridge to Nowhere. She didn't change anything in Alaska. The only thing this "renegade" Governor changed was her mind. She's a fraud who is all hype, McCain failed to do his research and himself even said his first act as President would be to nominate someone who is most ready to fill in as President should something happen.

Really?? Her?? More qualified than Tim Pawlenty, Charlie Crist, Tom Ridge or Mike Huckabee???  So let me get this straight, she:

Is inexperienced
This state trooper investigation does not look good (There apparently is audio tapes which she recently admitted to)
She said "Yes" she supported earmarked spending and the Bridge to Nowhere (a $300 million dollar bridge in Alaska). She even went so far as to say they should hurry it up while the republicans still have a majority in the senate (this was said in October 2006). THE SENATE rejected the bill, NOT Sarah Palin. She later vaguely said Alaska will look for other transportation measures. {for the record, Ted Stevens, the Republican Senator who supported the bill Palin endorsed is the same politicans who hysterically said "The internet is a series of tubes}. There is no defending this bill. I repeat, there is no defending this bill. It was a laughingstock in National Politics. Also crippling her stand is she is the only one of the four who supported it. How will she defend this stance when Biden rejected it?? As did Obama AND McCain
She said on CNBC "Someone needs to tells me what it is exactly that the VP does every day?"
She resorts to laughing when 2 doofus morning show DJ's call another (Republican) politician a bitch. I suppose that is what McCains referring to when he says she "Took on politicians in her own party" because nobody can now prove any wasteful spending she "rejected". She didn't "Say No" to wasteful spending as she claims, SHE ENDORSED IT. Other people had to reject it for her.
She also brings no states and will bring very few Hilary supporters or independents. She's a nutjob and people want her to possibly run this Nation, select  Supreme Court Justices who could shape the future of this country and lead this nation in war??

McCain's plan for the future is to drill drill drill. That's will solve all the problems in America.

Sarah Palin "bitch" tape released:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKkydrUnBZE

She sure doesn't sound very bright in this exchange that took place during her run for governor of Alaska. The way she's giggling like a school girl while her opponent is being called a bitch makes her sound more like someone running for high school student council than governorship. Her inane tee-heeing speaks volumes. I'm beginning to wonder if John McCain even vetted her.

As for Palin, I don't think she's bad, I guess, but i'm failing to see why Hilary supporters, who's a Democrat, would vote for McCain because of Palin, a woman who is pro-life, pro-creationism, and pretty conservative on almost every issue.

And I hate to break it to her, if you are anti-gay marriage, you AREN'T "pro gay".

If Hilary supporters turn around and vote for McCain because his VP is Palin, a woman, I think it's a pretty clear cut showing that people, mainly woman aren't voting for Obama because they are RACISTS. It would reenforce an attitude of "we'd rather have the WHITE woman, than the BLACK man". How else can you look at it that way? And i'm white.

I agree with you, and to be honest, I don't think many will. It helps sure up the conservative base, but I think Huckabee would have done that as well, he is also a governor, but he would be more prepared to take office than her (not that I'd want him, but he is more qualified). I really hope McCain didn't think Hilary supporters would vote for him because any woman was on the ticket. It's pretty insulting, saying one woman is just as good as the next. Honestly I think he should have chosen Tim Pawlenty, even though I don't know much about him, but there would seem to be more qualified, as is Mike Huckabee. Wouldn't you be pretty pissed off if you were passed over for a promotion for some young hot chick, even though you had years of expereince over her?? I would. And also Charlie Crist would probably be more qualified, and also probably bring a state.

Getting off Oil altogether would do just as much. And don't talk about stock markets after 8 years of Bush. The Dow Jones (standard indicator of stocks) was 4,000 when Clinton took office, when he left it was nearly 11,000. You know what it is today?? 11,500. Gas was just over $1 when Clinton took office, after 8 years it was $1,47. Know what it is today? about $3.50 having exceeded $4. So don't talk about the economy when referring to Republicans failed policies.

Also, I truely feel the future of wind energies, Solar, E85 will create a new boom similar to that of the dot com boom of the 90's. Middle class tax breaks allow for more spending in the economy, more investing, and new companies investing in alternate energies add to investing in these new companies. Increasing my 401k plans value;-) That guy Boone Pickens is invested all over the place there, just waiting for it to take off. What's McCain bringing to the table?? Digging in Alaska?!

#5756 Re: The Garden » McCain picks Sarah Palin for Vice President » 924 weeks ago

Is she really the "renegade" governor McCains making her out to be??

http://faithfulprogressive.blogspot.com … where.html

Apparently it's already come out she was "for" the bridge to nowhere, even was quoted as wanting to hurry it up before the GOP lost their majority in the senate. It was only after the bridge to nowhere became a national laughingstock that she later opposed it. She was even quoted in the Anchorage Daily News as saying "Yes" she is for it. So, first she was for a $300 Million dollar bridge project in Alaska, then she was against it??

Personally, even though I'm a Democrat, I just don't find her electable. The qquestion "Is your VP ready to take office on Day 1 is bound to come up in debates. Obama has an answer, I don't see how McCain can answer it. Also, James, I know what you're saying about Obama not being able to say anything bad about her lack of experience, but on the other hand don't you see that working both ways? McCain really can't talk about Obama's lack of experience as much anymore, because at 72 his VP has alot more weight than most elections. McCain had 1 strong point over Obama, and now he reduces that strength. And I still don't see McCain having any strength on economic issues, not helping him was his quote earlier this year saying "I don't know much about the economy".  I noticed even conservative Michael Savage doesn't get it.

We'll see, it could be an incredible choice, it could be a stupid one. We should all agree to wait until after the RNC to begin seeing the polls & how these decisions have fared.

I don't give a flying fuck about the environment, I give a fuck about prices, and as long as the oil companies are willing to make a little less, to take the pressure off me, I have no problem with them CONTINUING to make money on oil.

It'll be years before the oil is being pumped & used. By then we'll need to be looking for alternate energies anyway, because even forign oil will be dwindling because China, Russia & India will be using more than us anyway. Might as well be proactive and start looking now, 10 year searly.

#5759 Re: The Garden » McCain picks Sarah Palin for Vice President » 924 weeks ago

I just don't see it winning out in the end. VP is considered "Your first decision as President".

Obama picked a thorough, experienced and knowledgable Senator well respected. McCain chose an attractive woman who prior to being Governor for 18 months was Mayor of a city with a population of 5,000.
