I still reckon it hurts them not having Cliff Burton there, his classical background I think is what heavily influenced some of the real melodic guitar interludes etc (I really like some of that stuff).
Listen to some Infectious Grooves songs on Youtube if you're worried about Trujillo, he makes speed metal melodic. I think he was a great addition, but we shall see. Cliff was great, and Jason was great as well, kindof wierd fit personality but whatever. Anyway, let's hope good things happen in 3's.

Was it the some kind of monster documentary that had some of the the making of ST anger in? The one where they are all sitting around kicking about lyrics and stuff like "Tick Tock Tick Tock"?
Im gonna do some diggging - I'm sure I heard Lars use some words similar to the effect of going back to the Garage Days kinda sound.
Hetfield said in 'Some kind of Monster' documentary that he said to the guys how about this idea... a new wave kind of Metallica. (By New Wave I think he was referring to Nu-Metal that was big then like KoRn, not 80's Duran Duran or Safety Dance). Kirk wasn't too into the idea, and upset when he recommended no solos.
The drums sucked, but they took a chance and strayed away from ReLoadedAgain. St Anger is actually a pretty cool song though. The drums & too much Pro Tools copying & pasting hurt the overall outcome, but it's more of a concept album to me. Moreso than any of these emo bands claiming to release concept albums.

Oh yeah, that will instill leadership into the QB position. "I'm here because I won the coin flip, remember guys..?
Why the fuck didn't they draft a QB in the second or 3rd round?? (or did they?)

can't wait for his next album which is due out sometime this year I believe.
I heard the single yesterday. Sounded like a slow NIN song, had an electronic drum beat to it, I didn't seem to hear much guitar. Small change, didn't sound drastically different. It was called 'Screamer' I belive.

I think we had this at ROV. But thought I'd do it again here. For those of you who don't know, your porn star name is your first pets name, and your Mom's Maiden name. Your stage name is your middle name, and the street you grew up on. (There's variations to them, but this is what I've always beleived it was)

Awesome band. And Superunknown is an epic album. Monkeychow check out "The Day I tried to Live" for vacal range. Also great from that album are 4th of July & Like Suicide. In addition to James' list I always like 'Gun'& 'Full on Kev's Mom' from their earlier stuff. I always liked those songs, not sure why, garage grunge I suppose.

Aerosmith should have stopped. Janie's Got a Gun was their last good song IMHO. (Personally that's my fave Aerosmith song, oddly enough)
