he's a fucking genius, he plays those appetite songs like a machine
What? I admit he's better on AFD than the UYI stuff, but he's not really good at any of it.

IF this isn't a temporary move, there honestly HASN'T been a better time for a reunion since the band split up. I'd still rather see CD come out and Slash do a solo album before a runion if one were to happen, but the reality is that the timing has never been better.
Interesting that this is the 2nd time this has happened with Robin. I would think he'd have to have Axl's ok to do it, which means IF CD is coming out, it isn't going to be anytime soon.

Finck belongs in NIN. He's never fit GnR (despite his recent efforts) and plays the songs that made the band famous worse than I do. I would go see him in NIN and likely respect him infinately more there than I ever could in Guns.

The ONLY reason I'd be ok with Bach is if it somehow helps to bridge the gap between Slash and Axl. VR with bach would be a nostalgia act, and if I'm going to have that, let me have the original GnR back together. 2008 - 2010 CD and a VR album, 2011 GnR reunion. 2012 - the end of the world.

I don't think Scott ever fit the band. I like Scott and I like STP, but he just didn't fit in with the sound Slash and Duff excel in and they didn't fit the sound Scott excelled in. They are all talented and all things considered did very well together, but it was never going to be as great as the sum of the parts because they couldn't all shine on the same style of music. This move is in everybody's best interest even though neither side will admit as much.

He's a Scott fan. Nothing wrong with that, but I wouldn't call it a "casualty" of the situation. He's siding with his guy, much like I would if I ran a VR site and Slash left.

And I might (as well) add that I think that this drama caused by these guys is so fucking stupid - why not do it the right way instead of taking cheap shots at each other?
Because none of them know any better. Their entire careers have been filled with drama...on some level, I think they seek it.

Sounds very similar to how I imagine he'd describe Axl if he were really honest about it.

Yeah I agree Scott was a very important part of their sound. But more than focusing, he was limiting, imo. The core of VR needs some reshaping.
Agreed. His contributions were more negative than positive. I like Scott and wish him all the best with STP, but VR moving on without him is in everybody's best interests at this point.

Nothing wrong with an STP concert by itself, but the context makes it a little disappointing...
