Highly doubtful. I see no chance Silkworms ever sees a GnR album release.

This isn't worth 15 pages of discussion yet. If anything else comes from this, then it might be, but not this part of it...
#6323 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl/GN'R have new management » 946 weeks ago
I am almost willing to concede that they may be making plans to release the album, but I'm nowhere near ready to say it's coming out in '08. Having management is the thing that makes me feel better about the situation...no album was ever coming out without a management team in place.

Scott never was Velvet Revolver. I think this is a rare case where the band is more important than the singer.

I totally agree but doesn't that just suck in a way?
Yes, it completely sucks. I wonder if this is how people in their 20's and 30s felt in the early to mid 80s? They were coming off The Beatles, Stones, Zepplin, Sabbath, etc and were stuck listening to the new wave movement in the early 80s followed by hair bands. Maybe there's another revolution coming (and no, Axl won't be leading it).

Lead guitar as we know it doesn't exist any more. But the blues sound hasn't gone away, it's just transformed into the music itself instead of the solos.

Rock Star Velvet Revolver.

James - I'm not kidding, not at all. I don't like his solo stuff, at least not what I've heard. That said, I don't want Slash in this GnR anyway. This GnR is a joke and bringing him back in an attempt to legitimize all the bullshit of the past 15 years would be beyond rediculous. If this is what GnR is going to be, then so be it. I want either a full reunion or this band to get off it's ass and actually accomplish something. Unfortunately it looks like I'm going to get neither.
I think BH and Finck are fine together in this pseudo-industrial version of GnR, but neither has a place in the band that actually accomplished things. Neither of them fit the sound that was Guns N' Roses and their performances of the classics prove it. You can cover for them by saying they are "making it their own" but when you're in guns N' Roses, you should play the songs the way Guns N' Roses wrote/recorded them.

If my choices are Slash and Izzy or BH and Finck, I'll take Slash and Izzy every day of the week. I'll take melodic solos and dynamic riffs over playing as fast as you can just to show your "talent" and some industrial "riffs" every chance I get.
I still don't get the BH love. His solo stuff is average at best and his strong contribution to nuGnR is limited to one solo on TWAT. The "outdated" blues sound will never get old...it's been around for decades and it's not going anywhere. There will always be an audience for melodic music. You can't say the same for the industrial sound.
