Another win for the working class. /s
Senate kills rule that made it easier to sue banks
Vice President Mike Pence cast the tie-breaking vote Tuesday night to repeal a rule that made it easier for Americans to sue their banks and credit card companies.
Senators passed the measure by a vote of 51-50, handing Wall Street its first major win since President Donald Trump took office in January.
Two Republican senators, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and John Kennedy of Louisiana, sided with Democrats in opposition to the resolution.
Wiping out the rule would affect tens of millions of Americans who often don't know they are covered by an arbitration clause when they sign up for a credit card, checking account or prepaid card.
Many companies tuck arbitration clauses into contracts as a way to resolve disputes outside the court system, making it harder for an individual to bring a case against a bank or credit card company.
"Tonight's vote is a giant setback for every consumer in this country," Richard Cordray, the head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau said in a statement. "Wall Street won and ordinary people lost."
Republicans have balked at plans by the consumer agency to bar companies from using arbitration clauses to stop consumers from bringing class-action suits. They've argued the rule issued in July was an egregious overstep Cordray, an Obama appointee.
Senate banking committee Chairman Mike Crapo blamed the agency for failing to re-examine the rule and develop alternatives.
"The CFPB chose an all-or-nothing approach, leaving Congress no choice but to overturn it," Crapo said in a statement.
The party-line vote is one of the last steps before the CFPB rule can be wiped out by Trump. The House voted 231-190 in July to overturn the rule. The measure now goes to the President's desk for his signature.

Who is saying this? My GNR has a thread, but it was locked down pending verification of said leaks.
Somebody hook me up if true.

Over one year in this investigation, still no evidence of collusion. Maybe another 3 years they will get it.

This is nothing more than an offensive move to make the results of Mueller's investigation become questionable.
The Uranium story was discredited years ago. Nothing will come of it. Moderate conservatives are blasting Fox over this right now. Mueller's investigation is not "coming back to Hillary." The dossier was paid for by both political parties, and then the FBI. This is old news, reported by CNN (fake!) months ago. Oddly, the Republicans only seem to be concerned about when the Dems paid for it. So much in fact, they left that part out of their latest fundraising email entirely.
In addition, the dossier is one tiny fragment of many moving parts. It isn't the catalyst for Mueller's investigation into Trump and friends. That said, the FBI has said many parts of it have been proven to be true thus far.
More than anything, what it seems like to me, is that Trump and his allies are shitting their pants and are making a pre-emptive strike with all this. Niger, Manafort etc. It's what Trump does best, along with his pals at Fox.
The right wing freak out/celebrating only shows their complete lack of reading comprehension IMO.

Also, I'd bet ppl sorta knew it was opp research all along, yet there's making a stink out of it now to deflect Niger investigations & coverage from the media. You don't find the timing at all coincidental?
It was just reported last night that Manafort is now under investigation for money laundering. What a coincidence.

Don’t you want the truth? Time for a special council to look into this. Also Mueller was the head of the FBI then and Rod Rosenstien was also a US attorney then. The gag order on the witness is about to be lifted. Let’s here them out.
Of course I want the truth. Investigate away. But the notion that Hillary is going to get bogged down in this is pretty desperate.
We have been investing collusion for 9 months and nothing has come up yet. NOTHING.
And you guys KEEP saying this. Yes there is nothing...because they are still investigating it.

Nobody "knows" anything. An investigation is ongoing. Reading is fundamental: "Tony Podesta is the chairman of the Podesta Group and the brother of John Podesta, Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign chairman. John Podesta is not currently affiliated with the Podesta Group and is not part of Mueller's investigation."
Wow, breaking news for half a year ago. It was reported that the GOP (rumored to be Jeb Bush) paid for research on Trump during the primaries. Once Trump won that, the Republican(s) quit the funding and it was then picked up by the DNC. Once the general election was over, the FBI continued to pay for the research because they were alarmed at how many ties Trump had with Russia.
The FBI has confirmed some of the information so far in that dossier by the way.
As for the Uranium "scandal" this is an old canard, rolled out by the GOP (party over country) to act as a smoke screen. It's no coincidence that Tucker Carlson is running with this every night. Nothing is going to happen with it. Just like all the other shit they make up.

A speech today against Trump, by Jeff Flake. I don't remember this happening before. Corker explained he was only saying what all other (republicans) discuss in private. Maybe more will come forward who aren't actually retiring? This is a promising start though and a pretty big deal IMO.

Anyway, the whole GOP is the party of the military went out the window when the rooted on emphatically a Manhattenite billionaire trust fund elite who received 4 deferments for bone spurts stated 'John McCain isn't a hero because he was caught'.
Right.
The GOP sells themselves as the hyper-masculine, flag waiving, patriot party. The simple act of kneeling during a football game is an outrage to our flag, our country and to the troops who defend it. Yet families of fallen soldiers are now "fair game", with very few Republicans calling this repugnant.
The same can be said for their claims of morality and fiscal responsibility. Not that they ever had a lock on these ideas, or actually practiced them in real life, but they hardly have a leg to stand on anymore.

She chose to enter the political foray when she opted to side with the fake cowboy.
So just to be clear, you're fine with Trump and his group of Twitter freaks going after this grieving widow. I think that's all we need to know about you.
