They will forever be unable to hype me up for new material. All the patented GNR hype that used to almost be part of their "brand" was squandered on CD.

Same. I know there is a tendency for people to say loads of songs are about slash but I think that one actually is, & probably Izzy too.

We are GNR fans. We will get coal and then argue among ourselves about which version of the coal was better.
The earlier version of the coal was better, before they over produced the coal, Brains drumming on the coal was so much better than what Frank will do live on it. You have to wonder how old Axl's vocals on the coal are........ and so forth.

One of the few benefits of the modern world is that we get stuff like this:
For those of us who grew up with the old mafia it is bizarre to see high ranking members just laying it all out. Sammy in particular is also a great storyteller, a real talent.
It is interesting how this guy participated in 19 murders yet he gives the impression of being a fairly decent dude. If you watch interviews from "regular murderers" you get a completely different vibe. Those people are actually "off". This is more like hearing a war veteran talk about his experiences.
He is a great story teller.

Love the version that leaked 22nd of Feb 2006. The heavy 'now i know you better' parts were sung differently to later leaks and the released version.

Oh not sure if it's been mentioned but also it has the lyrics in however there is a note inside that mentions the lyrics have come from a translation of the lyrics, so they may well be wrong.

No sadly. I think that may have been something some hoped would happen but seems to not be the case.

Yes, the legal issues worry me.
A normal band would give us information. 'We need a break after years of touring and we'll focus in the next few months in studio sessions for an album some time during the year' or something like that.
But we all know how Axl does things...
Or tell us that still CD material is coming during Next year. Some information....
I think they at least learned through the process of getting CD out that it's a mistake for them to put timeframes on releases. When one gets announced and then they don't meet the release date then it's a bad look. But when they miss multiple it looks like a joke. If something is already on sale and you buy it like that 7'' then obviously they have to announce a date but outside of that the smartest thing they can do for them is keep there mouth shut.
Of course that just pisses fans off in another way. But it is what it is, because they are who they are, and they are who they are because he is who he is.
