Each to their own I guess.
That robin solo spot posted above kinda highlights my issue with him...by the end it's bluesy and killer...but the first 1/2 of that video...well it's not for me I guess.
Robin had a lot of great stage pressence, and the TIL solo has its moments...I'm not a hater of him but to say its the best rock solo of all time is rating it well above what I would.
From what i've seen of DJ his style seems to blend perfectly with robins and also slash's - i think he could be the solution to a lot of problems. But time will tell. Believe me i'll be the first to change my mind if he gets up there and doesn't nail the AFD solos!
robin's got stage presence on stage with guns n' roses. DJ doesn't. stage presence = epic solos. robin's TIL solo's epic. the greatest. i surprised you don't rate it the best. what do you rate the greatest? i rate robin's TIL solo #1. better than slash's child o' mine. better than stairway to heaven. better than layla. better than them all. you're mind should be changed. axl should change his mind bringing robin back for the fans

I went to see nin last week just to see Robin and felt bad for him. He was just kinda standing there through the whole show.
robin was just standing there cause he feels he got the shaft from axl with chinese democracy before and after its release to the public for commerical spotlight

DJ is actually a very talented guitarist. And that This I Love solo is not so good. Doesn't match the song and doesn't get enjoyable til the very end. Robin was overrated.
DJ's overrated. not robin. look, the solo by robin in TIL is the greatest rock solo of all time. better than anything slash ever done. including: sweet child / november rain/ estranged. robin's TIL solo's better than all 'em. that's why robin got the shaft. robin was supposed to get the public credit in the public spoltight once chinese democracy finally came out. axl shafted robin by allowing creative differences that forced him back to NIN. if axl hadn't have dropped the ball on robin, robin would still be in the band. there would be no DJ. the fact is axl shafted robin. in turn, shafts the fans who expected robin on stage for a gnr tour when the album came out publicly. who expected seeing robin showcased in new epic gnr videos. like slash was before him. this is what the fans expected with robin. they won't get it. robin won't get it. that's called "getting the shaft"

why didn't axl support chinese democracy? look, when it came to advanced promotion of the album months in advance..axl took his ball and went home. why? axl sat on it. he thought the album would debut #1 selling millions just like the illusions did. he was wrong. the wrong single was picked. a music video wasn't ready. no magazine covers. no TV interviews. no award show performances. no talk shows. nothing. axl let chinese democracy whistle past the grave. was and is axl's fault. he dropped the ball on promotion. axl dropped the ball. promotion's on him. it's his responsibility. he failed the fans. axl failed chinese democracy promotion for it to be a monster commercial success
