I don't really understand why people think This I Love is garbage but enjoy Breakdown, NR, or Estranged.

They're all piano ballads with emotional guitar.

This I Love is a beautiful song.

Yeah...given Slash and co are happy to play Prostitute and Sorry and even the title track live....you'd assume there's no political reason why they wouldn't add some guitars to Silkworms and The General and stuff.

I just want anything new from GNR really.

But I figure the other chinese stuff was recorded back when his voice was probably stronger...so I like the idea of Slash and Duff adding to those vocals.

I'd like to see more from CD as well, but even though it's 10 years, I can't see them doing it the same year as this AFD thing. I think Locked and Loaded and another Tour Leg are pretty much it for this year.

from releasing the AFD30 set a year late

From what I understand, that was largely down to bureaucratic inertia at the record company. Presumably it's also tricky for Axl, Duff and Slash to give their input/approval for the in-depth remastering process for a massive box set while they're out touring the world.

Yet these problems don't happen to every other act.

#706 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR.FM | Destruction Is Coming » 416 weeks ago

^ That's a possibility.

It's just weird that when it comes to a new album they suddenly become marketing geniuses and understand the best way to maximise brand potential in the longer term is to do nothing....but yet they literally screw up every other aspect of modern marketing...from releasing the AFD30 set a year late to current inability to buy any of the UYI tour shows released as blu-ray to the continual lack of interviews about the reunion etc.

It's not that i'm painting it to be negative intentionally, it's that things have been inane for so long that at some point, as they say, if it looks like a duck, it walks like a duck and it quacks....well then....maybe it's a duck.  19

cya!

I'm thinking about the same thing. I've always liked this forum most, but having rats among us is pissing me off.

The worrying part is the person requested the links be posted here, then he reported those links.

That makes it hard to trust requests for links in the future if it's not addressed.

Guns N' Roses doesn't will never have a new new song, imo.

I dunno i think they will do whatever they have to do to keep the lifestyle.

I think that's why Axl reunited...nu-gnr did as many tours as possbile each time going to a smaller venue.

Then they did vegas....twice.

They didn't have much left to do...that's what triggered the reunion.

Now when that's running out of stadium steam after four years....they refresh the fire with the AFD box.

Then they could do a few more years playing arenas.

Then its going to need something else in the tank....maybe a UYI set? But would that get as much attention?

At some point the way to boost interest will be to release a new album...that's when it would happen. When they have no other choice lol.

Are we just living in an electron?

I've noticed that before too.

Like when you zoom a long way in everything starts to look really similar to when you zoom a long way out.

Really makes you think.

Yeah...it's certainly uninspiring.

I take it to mean nothing is actively being planned to happen soon, but that they reserve the right to do something eventually if they feel like it, but they also don't want to be held to it 16

I figure they would want this AFD release and SOYL single to get most attention in the market place for the time being, so I doubt something is coming out around the same time or they would have mentioned it previously.

Then the rest of this year we have more tour dates. Then towards the end of the year Slash is doing another Myles album and some dates around that - which you'd assume is scheduled around down time for GNR.

So i'd say we're looking at mid next year at the absolute earliest to start a new GNR cycle, and I think that could depend on if Ac/Dc decides to move forward with Axl. If an Axl/Dc record happens then I think we'd basically see a huge Ac/Dc tour - and GNR would be at most maybe a handful of tour dates around that still NITL themed - much like this year has been - sporadic dates st festivals etc. It could then really be years until they regrouped and started a full GNR new cycle.

But time will tell I guess.
