It'd be amazing if we got a box set with the '99 version included on one of the disks. That'll never happen though.
I know it's not what you guys want...but my fantasy along those lines is take the 1999 Axl vocals and put them with 2018 Slash....that would be an interesting update...I'd like to hear stuff like Nighttrain without the fadeout and brownstone with a longer intro....and jungle needs a studio "do you know where the fuck you are" too!!!

I hope there's more to this than Shadow of Your Love - considering that was a B-side on one of my 1990s GNR CD-singles.
It's a good sign that there's more than just the original AFD i guess. But i'm really hoping for something a little less obvious.

There isn't a huge amount of bonus material that they could release, is there?
The choices I can see are:
* Early Demos of the AFD songs (Already in Circulation)
* Alternative Mixes of the original AFD songs (Some in circulation)
* The B-Sides from that era: AKA - Shadow of Your Love, Corn-Shucker, Aint Going Down, Crash Diet
* Live versions from Back in the day of the AFD tracks, likely an early gig.
*Live versions from the modern band (eg 2016 troublador or chochella audio)
* Some type of re-dux studio versions of the songs - perhaps using elements of the 1999 redux versions but now with Slash/Duff.
(seems the least likely, but then when you consider Big Daddy SCOM and Slash doing PC with Fergie on his solo album I don't think it's entirely impossible. Especially as a bonus track that accompanies cleaned up versions of the original disc.)
* An actual new song. (That would have nothing to do with AFD but then people do this with GH records a lot so why not).

Indeed.
I hope we at least get a remaster. Preferably with a deluxe CD that has bonus tracks of some type. But it's possible it's a belt buckle and t-shirt pack with the classic album and that's it. Like the one they sold for chinese for like $150 that had a sticker, the regular CD and bandana or something.

Not really...it sounds like what it is....a record from the 1980s...but once you put it in a playlist with all the other remastered versions of every other famous rock song you have to ride the volume control like a cheap hooker to get some type of consistency....
I know people will say that just means everything else is mixed too hot...but..that's how rock kinda sounds...

I'm happy if we get a remaster. Some type of modern remaster is well overdue when you look at the catalogue of similar acts. They all have 30th and 20th and even 10th and 15th anniversary editions. Most major rock albums of the 1980s and 1990s have been remastered somewhere along the line.

Love you guys but I think it's the exact opposite.
That he was in a petulant mood and said "Not In This Lifetime" to an annoying question from Paparazzi wasn't some master scheme.
This is a guy that fires half the crew each night and then rehires them in the morning. Hell he did that to the band members a bunch of times too.
GNR since Axl got control is the story of half baked ideas that never quite happen as they should.
That's what happened to his 3 album cycle, that's what happened to the 2 or 3 documentaries they filmed about the CD era, that's why the "surprise reunion" april fools show was anything but a surprise after stinging hardcores for both Coachella and Vegas. That's why the fan club goodies never quite seem to add up to what they say they will be.
It's why the deluxe AFD 30 edition is being secretly released during AFD's 31st year!
Obviously Axl has known all along that reunions were on the table, it's why he rallied hard against selling out writing prostitute and ranting on stage. Sold out to a reunion anyway. In fairness to him, so would anyone.
This band couldn't plot or manage it's way out of a paper bag - there is no master plan in action.

\ While we can be pretty sure that they will all be around in 10 years' time
But can we? Sorry to be negative, I want a GNR record as much as anyone else, but look at our Key 3 as if you were a health insurance company...
Male 1: 56 years old, Undiagnosed Mental Illness including sducidal idolisation and periods of paranoia and isolation. Known history of cocaine, tobacco and alcohol use. Known to still drink/party relatively heavily.
Male 2: 52 years old. Heroin and alcohol addict, spent more than 20 years as a hardcore Junkie. Heavy smoker for the entire time. Known problems with drinking persisted after kicking heroin. Known but brief relapse of some type within the last 10-12 years or so. Apparently clean at present time. Had pacemaker fitted in his 30s due to heart problems caused by previous drug abuse.
Male 3: 54 years old. Extreme alcoholic, almost died of pancreatic poisoning due to alcohol abuse. Suffers from anxiety disorder. Admits to having relapse episodes abusing prescription medication at times within the past 10-12 years.
I really hope they all keep defying the odds and kicking ass...but at the same time....i'm not too sure about the idea of putting off projects for another 10 years....I mean I've known a lot of males who have health issues in their 60s that would prohibit performance at a top level and these are people without this kind of history of bodily abuse.
