I'm sure stuff like that goes on at all fast food places. Fire them for sure...but I think Jail is getting a bit extreme...it's not like they put toxic chemicals in or something....i mean it's gross what they did...but jail should be reserved for more serious crimes IMO

#7902 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates » 891 weeks ago

Yeah...I think it works really well psychologiclly too...like as a fan you feel like you know him or connected to him. Like he's posted proper info about his performances but also fun stuff like a mobile fone pic of his guitars to a comment about his wife's tits...little things...but makes that connection to the fanbase.

I was also really pleased when Axl came online and did those chats. I think more stars should use this kind of technology...it connects with the fans but on the star's own terms...they can walk away from the pc...or ignore all the posts back at any stage...got to be better than having people screaming and yelling for you...or being interviewd where the interviwer can have their own agendas....and less repedative too....

It's good for fans too. I wouldnt have known slash played on the soundtrack to transformers 2  otherwise. So its win win!

Imagine the guitar heavy mixes we can make of this album when someone works out how to crack it... 11 11 11

I wonder if RB2 is even in Australia yet...i tried to get it back when Shackler's revenge was out and even Rockband 1 wasn't comercially availiable here!

Yeah I dont mind his style, it's that he doesn't follow the tune that bugs me. Like don't cover "Happy Birthday" and then sing a different melody...if you are going to sing a song...sing it how it goes wink

agree...closure was nice. BUT, I think Axl, the band, and the fans need to free themselves of "Chinese Democracy".....and try to start fresh.

Interesting...I think that's why I responded favourably to the announcment of DJ Ashba being in the band. While I can see the alternative point of view - that its yet *another* replacement - I also saw it as a fresh chance for the band. And,  frankly, to me it's positive when there's signs of activity in GNR at all, as I could easily have imagined them waiting for robin to come back in 2 years or something...stranger things have happened.

I see it as a good chance for renewal....IMO a lot of what people don't like about the new band was connected with Robin playing slash's parts very differently. And so if DJ plays them in a more LA rock style then I can see less hatred for the band (although of course there will always be diehard supporters).

In my opinion the more recent recruits have seemed to be good value - bumble talks well with us, and can shred like a motherfucker. Richard does a solid job and looks more at home in a live show than Paul did. Add in DJ and of course Chris and co...and I think we'll have a pretty good show (and very interesting new songs if they persued that)

Plus now we have a new era beginning. If Axl was to put out music in the future it's free of the "we waited 17 years", "we heard the leaks", and "it's a different style", "it cost too much money"   stigmas sometimes associated with the CD project.

I'd love to see a tour, and then eventually for the band to release something new - either stuff from the vault or maybe some stuff from this new line up - even just an EP or something... smile But for now...be good to see them tour this album....

the album, in the end, was just three more leaks and some detailed writing credits....I wouldn't mind seeing a second album and some real tour news.

I know what you mean, but I was glad that the leaks made it to a finished form in the end, like the songs in leak form had become a part of my life over the years, and it would be really wierd if they remained unoffical and we were left to rely on bootlegs and leaks for them forever. This way they are accessable to people who arn't in the hardcore fan base and I sort of like that. So as much as many felt we didn't get much new, I was glad to get closure on all those songs with an offical version.

#7908 Re: Guns N' Roses » Whats your favorite song on CD? » 891 weeks ago

Everytime I try and post to this thread I can't decide what my fav is.

It's difficult because the leaks and live shows ment that we didn't hear everything all at once - so it's hard for me to compare the current enjoyment with some of the fresher tracks to years of liking the older ones.

There's so many highlights on this album to me.

TIL is just beautiful, Madagascar is inspirational, the TWAT vocals are awesome at the end, the bucket + bumble manic playing in a few songs....Riad grew on me so much - didn't understand it from the live peformance, but on the record it's incrediable....I loved scraed too.....there's too many great songs for me to pick a favourite...it's more a series of favourite moments for me!

With all due respect to everyone playing this stuff. I tried it at a friend of mine a weekend and I thought it sucked. It didn't have anything to do with guitar playing. It was just pressing some buttons when they showed up on the screen. The buttons and the groove of the song didn't match that of what I had in my head and I quickly dropped the whole thing.

I tend to agree as I had friends who are so stupid they honestly think if they can play the song on GH then they can play it in real life. As a guitarist it seems to me these games are a lot more about ryhthm in general and nothing to do with actual guitar. However that said, once you accept that, they're really addictive....they can be quite good fun if you can get the feel for it.
