well he`s blaming them to be part of the reason of his writers block in the early nineties axlin. i don`t think he`s talking about the years after 1998.

in my opinion, songwriting-wise bumble is the weak link. but i`d love to be proven wrong on that..

i guess most people would love for izzy to come back, but i think that`s not realistic.
axl said numerous times, that he`s open to jam with duff and izzy, one at a time, and that he doesn`t want to rely on izzy again. izzy quitting the band in 91 hurt him more than anything else i think and set the path for the last 20 years, especially regarding his wish to gain control over the band. and it makes a return of izzy very unlikely.

i strongly disagree with you axlin, by the way.  in my opinion, realistically bumble would be the first one to leave, and in theory richard would be the logical choice who should leave, if izzy returned. bumble is very vocal about his unhappines. dj is buddies with axl. richard on the other hand was basically brought into the band to replace izzy (http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/arti … ticleid=82  ps: read the part about slash, he`s basically explaining the entire break up there.. )

it`s really laughable...  and no word from management

i try not to look at what could have been or what they could be doing now to be honest... if it was up to me, he would`ve recorded 10 albums with slash and izzy by now. the sad part is, if you`d ask axl he`d probably tell you the same. and i believe that is/was a major part of the problem, ie. the current situation of gnr.

like bono says in the other thread about some people`s selective memory when it comes to axl`s look, the exact same goes for axl`s voice. the bridge school thing was probably the worst vocal performance axl ever delivered, but to say he`s now better than 2011-2012 is utter bullshit. his voice is almost exactely the same since the shows following rio, probably even rio included and the dubai shows in late 2010, even though there were some better and some worse nights.

the most ridiculous thing was a thread on mygnr, where someone claimed the performance of jungle was the best since 2009.. i`d go as far as saying it was one of the worst since 2009, as he nails that song every fuckin show and in 2010 he tore the roof off with that song.

well, the thing is, except for some dozens of hardcore fans on the boards, everyone is satisfied with the setlists. i personnally think the setlist is great. i hadn`t seen gnr live since 2006 until the concert in germany this year and they played about 8-9 songs they didn`t play the last time..  of course i`m all up for some new songs and deeper tracks from the catalog, but the casual fan doesn`t care about that. people don`t go to a concert to listen to songs they don`t know, they want the stuff they know and love.

btw, which band is doing 2 1/2 -3 hour shows today? of course there are some, but the huge majority of concerts i attend  are more in the 90 minutes range.

the thing is, i want new material as much as the next guy here, but i`m not as obsessed with it as some people on this forum obviously are and i think most people here won`t even admit that. all the members here, continually insisting how they don`t care about anything that happens and bitching about anything axl does or doesn`t do are in my opinion more obsessed with this band and bigger fans than they would like to be.
